Very chill ambiance with pool tables and plenty of space to spread out and not feel crowded on. Follow that with a friendly staff that knows their coffee as their expertise!

Sozo Coffee is the kind of place that actually gets community. From the second I walked in, I was greeted by name and pulled into easy, genuine conversation—the kind that makes you forget you’re just there for caffeine.
The manager (short blonde) was warm, upbeat, and honestly a highlight of the visit. She talked my head off in the best way—friendly, engaging, and clearly someone who enjoys the people on the other side of the counter, not just the drinks she’s pushing out. The rest of the team matched that energy, which says a lot about how the place is run.
My drink was made correctly, timing was smooth, and the whole experience felt personal instead of transactional. This is one of those spots where you’re not just another order number—they remember you, they chat with you, and they make it feel like your neighborhood coffee shop should.
If you value good coffee and good people, Sozo does both right.

Obviously Sozo is great. It used to be my old study haunt while in college, I had my bridal shower there, and I've had several interviews and hang out sessions there too. Great place, so much space and many things to do. The coffee is always great and the baristas are always so friendly and fast even when there's a major line. Long live Sozo for sure!

Absolutely unacceptable service. The blonde short manager was passive aggressive, rude, and dismissive from the moment I ordered—no greeting, no basic courtesy. I waited 15 minutes for my order in a place that was not busy at all.
I came in with a friend who ordered after me. Her drink was made wrong, and mine wasn’t made at all. When my friend went up to fix the issue, the manager was snarky about it, didn’t apologize once, and pushed the problem onto another barista to handle.
To make it worse, both drinks were handed out to-go even though we clearly ordered for here.
This wasn’t just a mistake, it was snarky, careless, and unprofessional behavior from management. If this is how customers are treated, it seriously raises the question of why someone with this attitude is still managing this place. I used to be a regular, I am not longer coming back.

RUDEST manager I’ve ever met. I got in line and waited for 7 minutes with the rest and I see the manager yapping away and not taking anyone’s orders. Finally starts doing her job and takes the orders in front of me, when it gets to my turn she completely walks away and starts yapping to who I assume the owner about some sort of beverage mix while I’m still waiting in line for another 5 minutes. She finally comes over and gets my order and says “What do you want?” No greeting, no how is your day, no polite smile. I give her my order and pay with cash and she didn’t give me the correct change back which was $1.76. Then snarky said “step aside your order will be done over there”. Ma’am, there is a polite way to say that.
Also saw she was so RUDE to another girl when she trying to book Sozo’s. Simply ignored her request when she said she came in a handful of times to talk to a manager.
Also heard from others that the manager is not a nice person and honestly, I’m not sure why she still works there. She’s not the type of manager I would want to run my business. Rude, snarky, and lazy.

Do NOT try to rent anything here because they will be NO help. Baristas don’t even know what they’re doing and the manager is just as clueless. Came in 8 times to try to talk to the manager about renting Sozo because their website wasn’t working and left our numbers 5 times over the phone and the baristas just kept telling us to keep trying with no solution. Blonde manager keeps running away from us so they don’t have to do their job.
Also, make the damn coffee how it’s supposed to be made. I ordered a drink that was supposed to have whipped cream, I didn’t get the whipped cream but my friend who ordered the exact drink did. The barista was like “oh did you want whipped cream?” Me: “does it come with it?” Barista: “yes” Me: “… then I’d like to have whipped cream if that’s how the drink is supposed to be made” barista: “oh ok!”

I would like to preface this by saying I’ve never left a review on anything and probably never will again. Sozo is quite charming and almost everyone there is quite nice. I have recently moved back to Omaha after years away and was trying to find a coffee shop to regular after my work shifts and it seemed like a perfect cozy joint. That was until today when some crazed man approached me while I was reading my book and started spouting off for 30 minutes in my general direction about some very disturbing and inappropriate topics. Eventually someone told one of the workers and he was kicked out, and I thought that was the end of it, but then one of the other baristas came over and scolded me as well. I was on the verge of a breakdown already and this just soured the place for me for good. It was bad to the point that other patrons came over to me and apologized. This isn’t something that will happen regularly but treating someone this way as a staff member who had no idea what happened is unacceptable. Don’t go here unless you want to be in close contact with some very strange characters
