Turkey pesto Sandwich was pretty good but the art collection on the wall was way too weird for my liking. The guy working wasn't very helpful with suggestions then when I tried to order the Cuban he told me they were out of pork...would have be nice to know when I asked what he recommends.

Decided to come to a local shop instead of going to a big chain deli and man, these guys definitely disappointed. Not only did I spend $30 bucks but I also waited for 50 mins for 2 sandwiches, the worker looked upset and very angry that we even ordered 4 hours before closing. Look for another job if you ain’t happy bro. Worst thing is, the worker is handling money and credit cards but doesn’t even wear gloves while making the sandwiches.

Good sandwiches, weird vibes. The Cubano and Long Beach club were delicious. However it did take about 25 mins to receive our sandwiches. Beyond that the interior is best described as grungy. The art instillation on the walls is a bit unappetizing as it ranges from creepy dolls to the nude female form. I'd recommend calling ahead and getting takeout.

Almost everything made in house. So good.

Fresh ingredients that you can taste from the 1st bite! They toast the bread and warm the meat just right to bring out the flavor in most sandwiches ? I've tried, especially the California Turkey Club! The French Onion soup is also a favorite! Slight wait, but definitely worth it!!! #

in regards to the connor guevara. I was a customer at the store and witness everything when his "statement" went up. Their partner came into the store, WITH other customers in the store STILL. and started berating, the young man behind the countertop. He apologize TWICE to them about his "attitude" which wasn't even the problem, he just looked tired and sounded tired. I talked to the worker after they left, he already had 11 sandwhiches to make, when they came in and started causing trouble. A young lady came from the back and very calmly handled it breaking them up. The young man they yelled at has C-PTSD, soical anxiety and fibromyalgia, he explained he doesnt have a good "customer face" but to tell someone who is CLEARLY trying to do their 1 job which is make sandwhiches and you come in "as a therapist" and tell him to have a better attitude? Remember women were told "smile it makes u look prettier" thats basically what you told him. You should of removed yourself from the situation and not had your partner yell at someone who has mental illnesses TOO. As a "therapist" having ur partner trigger someone at work causing them to have an episode and YOU let your partner keep yelling at him. Its benson EVERYONE IN BENSON HAS MENTAL ILLNESS #Beawareofothersproblemstoo

I am a legally blind therapist who is terminally ill. I spend all day being paid very little to listen to extreme trauma (most therapists rarely deal with trauma). My clients are community mental health, so gov insurance, meaning I get paid less than half what most therapists make. I can barely afford my bills. But I spend my free money, once in a blue moon, to buy a sandwich from Star Deli.Best sandwiches in town. But the last 2 times I've been made to feel like a burden. Last time I literally changed my order because of how obviously his face dropped and because he openly sighed at me for daring to order a salad. It's 8:15. You close at 12. I make the mistake of ordering off the menu (nothing special) like anyone else, and I dare say "same bread on all 3 to make it a little easier." He shook his head and scoffed "its not easy..." I ask "how so?" He mutters "it's not easy..." I ask him to clarify and he repeats himself.Work somewhere else, bro. I worked for Kum and Go for years, making specific pizzas with dozens of options for toppings, all alone while managing an entire gas station and all the other things that go along with it like making fresh sandwiches and salad. There are places that allow you to just sell pre-made stuff. There's no reason to work at a place like this with an attitude like this. My ONE day I can spend money on something that is not bills, and I'm made to feel burdensome and difficult. Twice in a row now.I've a terminal blood disorder called Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome, and I can serve people with a smile. I have autism, and I can hide my emotions from clients/customers. What is your excuse? Honesty?I GUARANTEE you, it could be worse. Get a therapist or a new job or something. It isn't fair. I deal with enough actual discrimination on the regular. I don't deserve to feel like this for spending my money at this establishment. The more I spend the more upset the employee is; so backwards. I tipped well. Because I value effort. But a part of that effort is not making me feel like I should have gone elsewhere. Teens in overnight shifts at McDonald's don't have this much attitude. It is legitimately hurtful to me. I serve the community every day and I can't even order 3 sandwiches. He isn't a bad person. He saved me from overpaying once (blind people need bills in a certain order and the person who gave them to me didn't give in the right order). At the same time, it costs zero dollars to not knock me down a few pegs for being hungry and wanting to not cook rice or potatoes from scratch again.I've been coming here for many years and this isn't the service I am used to. I wish I went someplace else. I probably shouldn't come back, so dude can feel better. I wonder how many other people you've scared away man...it isn't right/fair. You can go do data entry or something where you don't deal with customers, if you have no customer service skills/hate anyone who doesn’t order 1 singular sandwich half.I just worked 8 hours with no break with people with horrid dark trauma. I'm in chronic pain. My dad is hospitalized and comatose. My daughter tried to commit suicide 2 times last week and just got out of the psych ward. You have NO IDEA what people are going through. I just wanted a good night. But instead I get to go home and feel like a burden.Thanks...
