Food wasn't great but not bad. Larger portions would have helped. No English speakers in building made it more challenging. Atmosphere was fine for what I would expect.

Got takeout, this place was a genuine surprise!

Very hidden, weren’t that many people dinning in and food took a bit but man was it worth it.

Don’t mind if my food takes a bit, makes me know they might be actually cooking more from scratch.

Both from San Diego so were pretty picky with Mexican food.

Sampled a couple of things:

Mulitas- Husband absolutely loved it. Cheese in it was so creamy

Carne Asado Tacos - staple, delicious and not dry! Great ratios.

Carne Asada Torta - also delicious! Not greasy

Pupusas - Many Honduran influences, although perhaps not their main dish you can tell they can cook Central American food!

Definitely check it out! Don’t initially dismiss or judge it like i did. Also after a 20min drive, still delicious!

**Restaurant Review: Tampico Taqueria**

If you’re on the hunt for a taste of authentic Mexico in Omaha, you simply can’t miss Tampico Taqueria! Ever since my trip to Tampico, Mexico last year, I’ve been chasing that delicious, vibrant flavor that made our vacation unforgettable, and I think I’ve found it here.

Nestled off the busy intersection of 108th and Q Street, conveniently near Rythums Night Club, this little gem has a cozy, clean vibe. It’s one of those places you might overlook if you’re not looking for it, but trust me—this is a spot you’ll want to seek out! As soon as we settled into our table, our friendly waitress greeted us with a warm smile. I’m glad my wife speaks enough Spanish to navigate the menu; otherwise, we might have been doing a lot of charades just to get our order in.

We decided to keep it classic and ordered a platter of Al Pastor and Birria tacos—and wow! The Al Pastor brought all the necessary flavors with its crispy edges and juicy center; it was definitely a hit. But let me tell you, the Birria stole the show! It was the best birria I’ve tasted in the Omaha area, bursting with rich flavors that transported me right back to my trip. Plus, although these tacos are street taco-sized, they are generously packed with meat and toppings, which made for a fantastic value.

To wash it all down, we opted for the agua fresca, a refreshing blend of fruits, flowers, seeds, with water and a sweetner, a perfect compliment to our meal.

Opening a new restaurant in such a competitive market isn’t easy, but Tampico Taqueria is truly worth the visit for anyone craving that authentic taste of Mexico. Whether you’re a taco fanatic or just looking for a laid-back dining experience, this place is sure to impress.

So go ahead, treat yourself to a culinary journey to Tampico right here in Omaha!

Took too long to serve and the meat was too salty and the fish soup was spicy and the fish had bones and was not edible

I found this place on Monday while
Just looking for a good pupusa I found those here and they were amazing but I’ve been back every day since for either breakfast or lunch because the food reminds me of being at home and my mom feeding me food all day. Everything I’ve had has been fresh and amazing the owner even went out to buy ham so I could have a thorta with egg beans and ham for breakfast ❤️

Enchiladas were great but there was an unexpected $2 charge for getting water.

I highly recommend this restaurant! We got asada tacos, papusas, and mulitas - all of it was so delicious! The mulitas were especially good with lime, and the tacos were perfect with their hot salsa.

The prices are also phenomenal! Great value for high quality food

This was my second time trying this place & left disappointed. My pupusas were stuck together couldn’t even separate them. The salsa container was filled only half way. If you’re going to add sides to your meals might as well not give any with those small containers you provide. Do better for your customers.

My family ordered this place for pickup. The birria meat was amazing, but the taco shells were so thin, they would rip when you picked them up. And we ordered THREE orders of birria tacos, and they only gave us ONE order. So we ordered nine tacos, but only got three. They charged us for 9 tacos. Do not come here in the evening, as they only had 1 person working at this time, and that is why it got messed up so bad. They should hire more people.
