We went before a 6:30 Sunday evening Orpheum performance. Our reservation was for 5:00--we were able to enjoy a casual dinner experience and make it to the show with time to spare. (I think we left the restaurant around 6:00ish...did not feel rushed at any point of the evening, though the restaurant did seem busier when we left than when we arrived, so I'd recommend reservations and not cutting it too close if you are dining before a show.) We were seated right away when we arrived. Our server, Cassie, took our drink orders right away and continued to provide prompt and personable service through our dining experience. Our appetizers were DELICIOUS--we had the hummus and pretzel sticks. Ordered 4 main dishes (soup/grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, and 2 pasta dishes). One dish did come out a bit after the others but wasn't more than a minute or two behind. Overall, it was a very positive experience, the show menu provided enough variety for our dining needs that included 2 vegetarians, and the location was perfect for our other evening activities. We will be coming back before/after future Orpheum performances!
Food was great and hot but we had 12:15 reservations and got there at 12:05, seated quickly. We finally got water at 12:30 when my husband went and said something, we ordered about 12:40 and got our food at 1:30. We had matinee tickets for Orpheum so had to scramble to get to the show. The place is always busy on Saturday matinee but this was too much. They definitely need more help.
Everything about our dining experience was perfect. Our waiter was very attentive and offered suggestions for food he thought we would enjoy. We wanted a light meal, so we ordered an appetizer and soup. All were delicious. We will definitely go back to Olive & Ira's.
Wenyt before a show at the Orpheum. Perfect location. They were busy! Kept up pretty well. Food was excellent. They are smart to keep that menu tight. It was delicious and served relatively quickly.
Very enjoyable dinner! The setting was great! Our waitress was friendly, and answered out questions about menue items!
We had ordered drinks and they brought out the wrong ones and we were the only people in there at the time. The food didn't have the best taste and by the menu names you expected one thing but they sat something else in front of you very confusing.
Great experience and the bartender was really nice. Very busy due to theater crowd - she handled all with grace and a smile.
My husband and I and another couple had the worst experience we've ever had in a restaurant at Olive and Ira's on Sunday, January 18. We arrived at 11:30 for our reservation, which gave us plenty of time to order, eat and walk one block to the Orpheum Theater for matinee performance. The dining room was half full at that time. The waiter ignored us for about ten minutes. Then he filled our water glasses and didn't come back for another ten minutes. We finally ordered. At 12:15 I went to talk to the manager about my concern with the slow service but he was busy serving drinks at the bar. I spoke to a waitress who said there was only one person cooking in the kitchen but everyone would be served so they could be out of the restaurant no later than 12:40. A few minutes later the waiter told us that there was only one cook in the kitchen and our food would be out in fifteen minutes, which would give us just enough time to eat a quick meal and get to the theater. Tables around us were being served including tables where the people were seated after us. The manager came to clear a table near us and I expressed my concern about getting our food. He said that the cook was trying her best to get the food out in a timely manner, and we would have enough time to eat before going to the theater. He did say that he would go back to the kitchen and check on our meals. My husband's meal was served at 12:35 pm and he said it tasted like it had been sitting under a warming lamp for quite a while. The restaurant was almost empty but the people at the three tables next to each other, including the one we were sitting at, had not received our food. At 12:40 we left the restaurant to go to the theater. Thinking about our experience I wonder if the waiter forgot to put in the orders for the three table or entered them into the system incorrectly. None of the four of us will ever go back to this restaurant.
The staff there is very friendly and does the best they can do. Every time I've been there they've been short-staffed. If you go before a show at the Orpheum you need a minimum of an hour. The food I've had there is mediocre at best. Last meal had grilled cheese that was barely toasted, cheese was not melted along with tomato basil soup that was lukewarm at best. Took 25 minutes just to get a cup of hot tea. Probably will not go back.
Our waiter Sam was excellent! Food and wine selections were delicious and perfectly prepared.

Worst waiter ever! It took over an hour to get our food and there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. We will not go back.
Went for NYE dinner. Was pretty slow at 630pm but filled in quickly. Only noticed One Server on the floor. Seemed like he was very overwhelmed with the Holiday. Food took forever. Couple steaks were overcooked and chicken was a little dry. Most likely due to sitting in the Expo too long, due to lack of service help. Desserts were ordered to go and after 30 minutes they only showed up because I went to the manager about them. Clearly needs more help. If they could get timely service, I'd recommend this place. Until then, expect slow service and overcooked food.
My wife and I stopped in for breakfast at Olive and Ira’s and really enjoyed it. Monique was welcoming, took great care of us, kept the coffee coming, and made some solid recommendations. The food came out fast and was even brought to the table by Missy, the cook, who was super friendly. The vegetarian omelet with fried potatoes and a biscuit was fantastic. Definitely a spot we’d come back to!

We were late to our reservations & called to let them know. They were very accommodating on keeping our reservation. Sam was our waiter (only waiter) on Christmas Day & did a fantastic job. My S/O food came out lukewarm warm & they were happy to warm it up & offered us free dessert. We chose to opt out of dessert as we were full so Sam comped my Wine. Highly recommend this restaurant and please ask for Sam!
