The very best steak house in my opinion! Their whiskey marinade makes their steaks the very best. Cooked to perfection with amazing flavorful taste. Sides are a great portion and the lobster Mac and cheese is delicious. We have made this our anniversary steak house and love the great service we have received year after year. We enjoyed the New York Cheesecake as our complementary dessert this year and it was the perfect last dish.
I ordered the ribeye and baked potato, which was delicious and cooked exactly how I ordered. However, my wife ordered prime rib, which was overcooked. She added a crab leg, which to our surprise, one crab leg was $62! My steak and baked potato Were only $55. They did take my wife's prime rib off the ticket which was nice of them as we did not ask them to do that. I love the drover, but the price of that one crab leg left a really bad taste in my mouth! No pun intended service was great as always.
My wife and I love going around and trying all of the different steak houses in the Nebraska/Iowa region. Out of all of them "The Drover" knocked it out of the park. I had the Trail Boss Prime Rib, and my wife had the Sea Bass. I have never had such polite professional service! Our food & wine was wonderful! Don't get me started with desert! Amazing! Well worth every dollar! We cannot wait to make our next reservation and bring our daughters home from college to enjoy as well! A job well done!
Overall it was so-so for food and atmosphere. The one thing that will most likely keep me from coming back is that the wait staff seemed to hate their lives. Seemed cold and bothered that they were staffed and doing their job that day. No smiles, short and cold when assisting, and basically made me feel like I was a bother to them my entire meal for merely existing.
You just can't go wrong at the Drover 😍 We booked a reservation for a birthday celebration and everyone loved their food selections. Whiskey steak for the WIN! Appetizer special was bacon wrapped shrimp and they were great! Pork chops were a hit, burger was fab, steaks for the rest of us and they were spot on with medium cook. Service is always above and beyond and that's what keeps us coming back!
Are Neal was outstanding minus that fact that after years of going to The Drover fir our anniversary my husband said, Thus year I'm having au gratin potatoes instead of a baked potato.” Much to his dismay, they were out of au gratin but his dinner was as wonderful as ever!
The food was excellent as usual. The salad bar was a little paired down from what I remember. Everything else was OK.
The whiskey ribeye is special! Could probably have some more fun side options at lunchtime.
This place is NOISY and crowded. My wife and I literally could not talk across the 2 person table. Every wall is a hard surface, every wall display is on metal. AND IT IS LOUD! This place burned down a few years ago, and they rebuilt it back the way it was. But they wasted a chance to put Navajo rugs, or CLOTH paintings or fabric installations on the ADOBE walls to tamp down the noise. There is about room for 2 or 3 people to "wait for a table". I don't know where you're supposed to go from there to wait. The bar was packed with people EATING at the bar, and what used to be a small cocktail room is now a dining room. We ended up standing in the hallway, dodging waiters and waitresses waiting for our table. Miserable. Sad. Because the food is really good. So if you just want to eat, yeah you should go here. If you want to enjoy a nice night out, skip.
I brought out of town guests who requested to come back this year because they loved it last year. We were placed between two large groups with a table of three. The room next to us had two large tables and the noise level was so loud. We couldn't even talk to each each other. I don't think the restaurant should've seated anyone next to them. Should that happen again? I will ask for a different table or leave the restaurant. Food as always was great and never disappoints.

Steak was tough and I don't believe that the waitress liked the fact that I said, "I have gotten better at Texas Roadhouse." They did take the meal off the bill and just charged us for the salads and drinks which was $48.66. If I have to saw with my steak knife more than 2 times steak is touch. Service was very slow we were there for almost 2 hours. Hubby said we should just go. I said no because we are trying new places every Friday for Date night.
As tourists, we wanted to find a place in Omaha where the locals go for a great steak. The Drovers was recommended to us and it did NOT disappoint. We enjoyed a late night dinner. The Whiskey Filets were cooked to perfection - so tender you could cut with a fork and the loaded baked potatoes were delicious, as were the sauteed mushrooms. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The family-owned and operated restaurant is a gem--off the beaten track, but well worth the trip a bit away from downtown. If we were to visit Omaha in the future, we would definately go back!
Steak was incredibly good. I tried the Whiskey marinade and was amazed how good it was! So render melts in your mouth. I had the prime rib.
Exceptional dining experience! Service was on point and the food was cooked to perfection!!
Absolutely horrible!!! We went there last night and had to send our shrimp back because it was burnt. My husband ordered the family style au gratin potatoes and the top was completely burnt. The stakes that we had were walmart quality at best. We definitely won't be going back there or recommend anybody to go there.
