As tourists, we wanted to find a place in Omaha where the locals go for a great steak. The Drovers was recommended to us and it did NOT disappoint. We enjoyed a late night dinner. The Whiskey Filets were cooked to perfection - so tender you could cut with a fork and the loaded baked potatoes were delicious, as were the sauteed mushrooms. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The family-owned and operated restaurant is a gem--off the beaten track, but...
Had a friend recommend The Drover after he found out we were in Omaha for the CWS. We wasn’t able to get a reservation due to the high volume of people visiting at the time, so we opted to try and walk in. Surprised that we were seated by the great staff in about 15min. Of the three times I've been here, my ribeye was cooked wrong twice. For a $55 steak, I expect the kitchen to get it right consistently, especially in a restaurant that's been around this long and has such a great reputation. Like others have said, the service isn't the fastest, but it's understandable in a place this popular that has a dinnertime crowd. The bar is by far the best part of the experience if you can find space.
