This beautiful historic hotel/restaurant has been on my to-go-to list for years. My husband treated me on a weeknight so we were able to get in without a reservation. The ambience is top-notch, taking you back to early twentieth century splendor. Food choices were unique but I went with the Omaha classic Reuben. I’m a Reuben fan and wasn’t impressed by the other Omaha restaurant that claimed to have the original. The Blackstone hotel truly has the best in town or anywhere for that matter. This was one of my favorite dining experiences, and we go out a lot. I have given quite a few five-star reviews but this one is hands down in the top 1 percent. I need to go back!

A friend of mine wanted to know where he could get a great reuben sandwich. I suggested here, the home of the reuben. So three of us met up[ and couldn't be more disappointed! All 3 of us thought our Reubens were extremely dry. Where is the Russian/thousand island dressing?!? None to be had. Try Crescent Moon across the street or Barrett's. However, both of those places are dumps! Nothin like a great reuben but it's NOT going to be at The Orleans Room!

Had reservations for dinner and stood in line to be seated for 15 minutes. All the staff kept walking past staring at the line of people to be seated without doing a damn thing. Most pathetic service I’ve ever seen in my life. Most of the people that had already been seated we’re leaving due to lack of service at the table, even.

Beautifully redone hotel that honors the past. Delicious Reuben with the right amount of dressing. Fries perfectly crispy and seasoned. Intentional and kind staff.

I had the Ruben and truffle fries. The Ruben was awful. It tasted more like pot roast then corn beef. Super chewy, but the truffle flies were some of the best I’ve ever had. Disappointing, because the venue was awesome. The staff was phenomenal. It was also really pricey with tip it was $70 for two people. I feel like that is a lot for two Ruben, sandwiches, and fries.

The food was good. But i feel way overpriced, even for such a place. $4 for a single thin slice of sourdough bread, the potatoes i feel was from a bag of frozen potatoes, like given at regukar hotel breakasts but with a flavor packet sprinkled on after they come out of thevair fryer?? Coffee wasn't very strong, but hot. Waitress was very nice and tentative. Maybe I'm just too down to earth and value my hard earned money. But, I will eat elsewhere next time.

Wonderful experience. I had the afternoon tea, lobster deviled eggs, & the clubber. It was all amazing! Afternoon Tea was a little lite in the savory assortment. Also, it is a preset menu. You cannot order what you like. Just an FYI. Other than that amazing experience! When you go in... ask to be seated in Lance's section! He was the server! Would go back just for him!

This is a restaurant in a boutique hotel charging boutique prices while acting as though customers are a burden to them. Beautiful atmosphere - unfortunate attitudes.
Here for an overnight & hanging by the pool this afternoon, a Sunday in mid July. I was directed to Orleans Room for food by pool attendant since the pool food options were closed. Pool attendant had indicated both lunch & brunch menu was available. Walked in about 20mins prior to them closing. Front desk projected major confusion about where to order pool to-go food - after being pushed toward the kitchen window, I was finally directed to the bar where I was told it would be a long wait since the bartender had other tables. 10 mins later - she approached me about ordering and then scoffed when I indicated I wanted food. A bit more indignation from bartender since it was only brunch & I quickly pivoted to review brunch menu and decide. I placed an order for avocado toast at a time stamped 1:55p. I was told it would be 10 mins. My husband offered to pick it up since it had taken me >15mins just to order. When he went inside, he approached the bar & someone redirected him to the kitchen window for pickup. He was told there were 10+ orders ahead of him and to “check back”. He checked back - 5 times - only to be told at 2:35 it wasn’t in queue. I went back inside to understand. Miraculously, the bartender had the food. Front desk didn’t know this and sheepishly admitted so. Bartender let me know that it was my fault ;) for the confusion. Front desk apologized, which I appreciated, but the entire situation could have been handled with a great deal more professionalism. They should have a to-go ordering process for the many guests at the pool & better communication between the team so that customers aren’t chasing their own orders. If it is a staffing resource issue - management should take ownership to better support their people.

Beautiful location and fun ambiance for a date night or girls night out. Nice food options without being super expensive - entrees in the $16-38 range

Food was delicious, service was great and oh what atmosphere. Insider the historic Cottonwood hotel in the Blackstone district in Omaha. Wow what a delight. Thanks Kyle for a great experience.

Bartender knows a ton about the hotel's (beautiful) history and makes a kick ass whiskey sour. Great time just drinking at the bar, didn't try the food this time!

This place has a warm, cozy, elegance that makes you feel like you are in a movie with Marilyn Monroe. My husband and I stumbled upon the Orleans room for brunch. What a treat. The bartender/server was incredible and made many menu suggestions, all were perfect. The lemon curd blueberry pancakes made me mad that I couldn't eat it all. My husband had the World Famous Reuben being that we were in the home where it originated. I enjoyed a salmon benedict and at the suggestion of Renee, I had her signature Espresso Martini. The food/beverage was so amazing, however it was the kindness of Renee that made us want to return.
If you are into beautiful decor with tastefully colored tiles and rich furnishing, this is the place for you.

When in Omaha, be sure to have at least one breakfast/brunch at The Orleans Room in the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel (and definitely stay in the hotel if you are able - it’s amazing!). The Orleans Room (actually the whole hotel) has a gorgeous old-school vibe with excellent service. The menu is unique, but with plenty of traditional favorites. Two of our faves are the shakshuka, and the Reuben Benedict. We’ve been multiple times and have probably tried the entire menu / highly recommended!

First stop after a red eye flight and we stopped by to try the famous Reuben Sandwich at breakfast. Instead, they had the reuben hash (sandwich only in lunch) which was good enough. The coffees, the friendly staff, and the wonderful ambience of the historic hotel made it a perfect launching pad for the trip. Parking in the lot was only valet, but they let us park free since it was early morning.
