They've closed this location. There's another at 72nd and Blondo that is much smaller. Never understood how they were keeping that place open with the cost of rent in that area and the fact it was never very busy inside.

This is the best Indian I have had in Omaha! Fantastic! The curry sauce is great with chicken or lamb, and the Tikka masala is delicious! A very nice lunch buffet for a reasonable price. Their garlic Naan is delicious too. Takeout is offered. Definitely will be going back!

Took about 15 min to get seated. Me and my wife were the only customers. Server did not know how to do the job, was very adamant about letting us know she had just started. Ordered samosa, chicken biryani, chicken tandoori. Samosa took 20 minutes. Used bad lettuce. An hour later, our food was still not done.
Although the prices remain lower than other Indian staples in Omaha, The Taj is no longer a favorite of mine. My husband brought takeout from there last night and it was not nearly as good :( Apparently under new management since we were in earlier this year. Recipes and menu have changed and lacking in flavour. Naan too chewy and served with an odd colored sauce that we did not try as the color was not natural. Rice plentiful yet did not taste the same and Chicken Tikka Masala not as I remembered.

We love this rstaurant! Food is consistently delicious. Many people know it for its lunch buffet, which is great. We like it for dinner, often as carry-out. My favorite: chicken tikki masala and almond naan. Yumm!
