Eight 8️⃣ family members visited this restaurant with David as our waiter. The food was outstanding as well as the cozy elegant atmosphere. David was very knowledgeable about explaining the food choices and wine pairing. What a delightful evening of dining we had. Thank you VMertz for the experience!

One of the best elegant restaurants on Omaha with a historical location in the old market.

We had the tasting menu with paired wine. The experience was exceptional. The food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. They delivered as advertised. I can understand there could be an individual bad experience but if they also give a low rating for atmosphere you know they aren't giving an honest review.

We absolutely LOVE this place. Never a bad experience dining here and we eat here at least twice a year. The tartare and duck are my personal favorites. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciate the wine recommendations as well as we prefer southern hemispheres wines. This is one of the best, if not the best, fine dining restaurants in Omaha.

V. Mertz is a cozy little restaurant in Old Market of Omaha. The restaurant itself resembles that of a wine cellar so the setting is dark and intimate, which is a good thing.
We decided to go with the tasting menu along with the wine pairing. Each course was brought out with decent pacing and our waiter was very informative on the wine paired with each dish. The food was absolutely delicious no matter the course.
The only negative thing I can really say is that the seats got to be a little uncomfortable overtime.
Overall V.Mertz is a rare gem in the heart of Omaha as it offers a legitimate tasting menu experience that I highly recommend that people try, if not their regular menu is just as spectacular! This place is a must should you ever find yourself in Omaha.

This place is absolutely incredible. The ambiance, service, wine, and food are all top notch. I had the ribeye and it was easily the most flavorful and perfect steak I’ve ever had. I was extremely impressed by this place and cannot wait to come back.

V. Mertz is our 'go to' for ultra fine dining in Omaha. Have been several times, and have NEVER had a bad, or even a mediocre experience. Rather, the staff is ALWAYS attentive, the food is ALWAYS excellent, and the ambience is ALWAYS perfect. Its very romantic. Are there other restaurants that might give you a similar experience? I'm sure ... but they are few and far between. Nobody else has the location though.... from the moment you step off the street into the Old Market Passageway, the ambience and sense of a special experience kicks in. I don't want to say 'exclusive', this is no South Beach or Beverly Hills experience ... nor would we want it to be. Rather, its a chance to experience the best parts of a South Beach or Beverly Hills dining experience, right here in Omaha. We started off with drinks .... it seems the bar staff are constantly experimenting and the drinks menu offers a combination of old stalwarts as well as new concoctions. Of course, a great wine and beer selection! No matter what you choose, you won't go wrong. Of course, the food ... oh my, the food. NEVER a bad item coming out of the kitchen. From the appetizers (we had the charcuterie and a cheese tray) through the main course and finally finishing with expresso and a dessert as fine as anything you might find in Paris or Rome ... you'll leave after just a few hours knowing you've experienced dining nirvana. Book your reservation, give yourself a little extra time to find parking and enjoy the early evening ambience of the Old Market, and don't worry about the details ..... they've got them all covered.
Fantastic experience that I needed after 2000 miles of traveling on my bicycle. Thank you!

Had tasting menu with paired wine. I didnt like short river, beef tartar, and duck confit. Beef tartar was not fresh and made me sick in a few hours.
