This is an Omaha tradition. Immediately south of Krispy Kreme it always makes me wonder why people even bother with the too sweet stuff next door. These donuts are absolutely perfect. They are fluffy and big and one dozen is 14! Grab some truly fresh squeezed OJ for a treat. Worth leaving the house with negative wind chills and driving 20 min each way for. I mean.... just yum. You know you want one.

Best donuts in Omaha, and holy cow the bagel breakfast sandwiches are shockingly good!!! The sugar twist donuts are like funnel cake, and they actually have chopped peanuts available as a topping for their cake donuts!!! Side note; be sure to drop in around Halloween, the decorations are spectacular!

They use to be good, but maybe they sold. I went there a a month or two ago and the worker was sweating, dripping down his face and wiping it when getting the donuts. Went there last week and the worker partially placed his hand in his nose as if itching it while I was browsing donuts. Not sure if the same guy, but very unsanitary and gross. Done going here.

My favorite bagel place was closed so I came to Winchell’s for a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and it was very good. Good service, and great doughnuts too!

I've been going to this Winchell's for many years since early 2000 and the gentleman first bought it. I remember he turned it around and it was just fantastic throughout the years. It's kind of slowly deteriorated over the last 5 years. I would say it's going farther down than it was before. The donuts I bought last night were dry overcooked and just not appetizing not to mention it was 16 bucks for our six donuts so I guess we're seeing inflation in that place too. If they were good I wouldn't really matter but when they're horrible and they cost that much then I guess you have a place better off passing on. I've been there four or five times this year and each time I said this will be the last, but I give them a chance last night will truly be my last one. It shouldn't be a hit and miss type thing when going there but unfortunately times have changed and everything is just garbage. It's sad to see that because when a gentleman bought it many years ago he turned it around. He was in the paper. Really proud of that place. I don't know if he still owns it but if he does what happened? I don't normally leave reviews. This one I'm leaving because after trying to eat these donuts. I am that disappointed farewell Winchell's.

Questions ask me what I'd recommend, well nothing I guess, I threw mine away and the one I ate I'm going to go throw away now but I'd rather not post a toilet 🚽 picture.

The last time I went here, the employee was very pleasant and helpful, which was not a thing in the past, but the Halloween donuts were adorable. You could tell that someone put a lot of time and effort into decorating them. However, their donuts were just not good. There was so much oil in them that it was dripping in my mouth and running down my chin. The donut box was completely covered in oil. (In all my years of living, I have never seen the top of a donut box be oil-soaked.) This is after we gave them a year break because the donuts were repeatedly doughy and undercooked. I think at this point I have to part ways with them. I was going to come and try a bagel sandwich, but after the last experience, I am terrified to eat there.

We enjoyed our first experience coming to Winchell's. We love all of the Halloween decorations indoors and outdoor - even my 3 year old thought the decorations were cool! Donuts were delicious! We look forward to our next visit. 🙂

Kid-friendliness: My 3 year old loved this place! Lots of families with young kids came in too.
