Formerly known as "The Monarch Grill by La Paz," but now simply "La Paz." They have another (their original) location in Lincoln. The place is located in the lower level of Papillion's American Legion. It doesn't have much street presence, so you have to sort of look for it. Despite it being in the American Legion is is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. You do *not* need a Legion membership to eat here. They serve many of the same Mexican/Tex-Mex entrées as La Paz in Lincoln and at the same price point, but they also have some standard American entrées (Or, as they call them, "North of the Border" selections). They've recently added an Express Lunch menu as well with some selections under $10.Food is decent. It's not what a foodie would call "authentic Mexican cuisine," so adjust your expectations accordingly. It's mostly Americanized Mexican dishes in that 1980s/90s style of Tex-Mex. Like I said, the food is decent, but I just can't get too excited about it. Burgers are good. I'll be back to try some of their other entrées.They serve Coca-Cola products. Iced tea is not fresh-brewed.Employees are friendly.

This place is a hidden gem.Food taste quality: 5/5Food presentation: 5/5Customer service: 5/5Food timeliness: 5/5It's easily one of the highest quality restaurants in Papillion. The staff is also very friendly, and they all seem to genuinely care about making you feel welcome.

I really wanted to like this place. Being from Texas I'm always looking for a good Mexican style eatery. This is not it. The environment of this establishment is giving old pub/bar vibes. It did not seem to be a good place to bring children upon our first entering.First, let's start with the chips and salsa. They charge for it. We're also pretty sure the salsa came out of a jar. It's not good. Heavy on the tomato flavor, light on everything else. Zero spice. Hard pass.We ordered a few different dished. Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas - the child loved them. However the sauce left a lot to be desired.Chili Verde Burritos - I'm not sure in what world this was considered a burrito dish. This was an enchilada dish and was basically the same thing as the cream cheese enchiladas, but with pork.Machaca Con Queso - this was indeed a burrito, the meat inside was flavorful but the rest of the dish was lacking. The chile con queso tasted and resemble velveeta with rotel.Kids Cheese roll ups - literally what it says. Some shredded cheese melted and wrapped up in a tortilla. My youngest usually loves dishes like this, but even she was disappointed.Rice and beans for everyone. The beans lacked flavor and tasted canned. The rice was too saucy and also lacked flavor. For the four of us to dine, including fountain drinks, it was about $65. Honestly not worth it. Our waitress (only reason for the two stars) was friendly, but it does not make up for bad food. We'll not be returning and will continue to visit our tried and true Los Tapatio's, which also isn't great, but it's miles better.

Poor service, had to ask for silverware and water. Food was cold . La Mesa has way better food and service. Jerzes bar has cheaper menu better food and service. Don't waste your time and money on a wanna be restaurant.

My family LOVES La Paz in Lincoln, so we're thrilled they're now in Papillion (in the American Legion). Try the cream cheese chicken enchiladas or flautas. They're amazing.

Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with lots of crowd-pleasing options.

Parking: Huge parking right next to the park.

Gave this place a try. The wife and I enjoy really good Mexican food. This was not it. I had the chicken cream cheese enchiladas and the wife had the Machaca con Queso. Both were good, but nothing that would make us come back again. Refried beans were standard refried beans and the rice was Spanish style rice with too much tomato sauce. If you are looking for good Mexican foods look elsewhere. This is Americanized. We enjoy Los Tapatios in Twin Creek.

The food is delicious. Excellent American fare and great Mexican food from their Lincoln LaPaz location.

Kid-friendliness: There is plenty on the menu for kids at very reasonable prices.

Excellent cream cheese chicken enchiladas. Sopapilla and fried ice cream were big enough to share with four people.Best Mexican food I've had in omaha since 1995.

Food is amazing here, staff are phenomenal, and overall, this restaurant definitely steps up and takes the place of Morans here without question. If you like Mexican food, and are looking for something new, come here!
