Our meals were excellent, the staff was friendly and courteous. It was quiet and easy to talk while we waited for our food and ice cream. Unique historical interior was fun to look at.

This place is packed with history—like, everywhere you look there’s something telling a story. It’s the kind of café where you slow down without even realizing it.

Now let’s get to the important stuff: they serve Black Cows (yes… root beer + chocolate syrup = happiness in a glass 🥤🍫) AND Italian Cream Sodas. It’s giving vintage soda fountain energy in the best way possible.

Prices are super reasonable too, so you can treat yourself without side-eyeing your bank account.
Overall, it’s a quaint little gem with big personality. Perfect for a relaxed stop, a sweet treat, and a little step back in time. Honestly… it just feels good being there.

I can’t wait to go back, honestly, I’m someone who likes to try new things. I do not know if I will be able to have anything other than the Reuben panini! One of my favorite sandwiches I’ve had. Maybe they’ll have a new soup I can try that day instead 😉. Chicken wild rice soup was delicious, and the pasta salad was good too! Service was great, took some time to get our meals but well worth the wait. Totally understandable with the smaller staff they have. You have to try River House Cafe! (Normally I get some pics, but the food was too good to wait for a picture)

This is in the land time forgot. It's An old fashion soda/ice cream parlor. From the 20's swing era music playing in the background,to the sandwiches and soup. I was happy with my banana 🍌 split. Delicious chocolate, scrumptious strawberry 🍓 and creamy vanilla ice cream. Visit this place in Plattsmouth NE. You will be happy to take your family.

Been going to River House for years, this has to be the best sandwich shop I’ve ever ate at. Everything is always fresh, the staff is always friendly and accommodating as well. They have perfected the art of making a BOMB sandwich! I can’t make this good of a sandwich as home, money well spent!

Wow, what a lovely little spot! The Reuben is a perfect sandwish as is the roast beef and cheddar! Picture perfect 10/10 cherry pie, and the decor/music are worth the trip alone!

My daughter brought me the corn chowder from there because I wasn’t feeling well and I wish I could get a whole pint of it. It was the best I have ever had and hit the spot so well.!!!!!

What a great spot to stop in have an enjoyable lunch! River House never disappoints with its standard and rotating options. The sandwiches are great and the desserts are even better.

A small corner café with a great, back-in-the-day atmosphere. The first impression is a step back in time to a soda shop. It's totally great vibes and definitely great sandwiches.
