I enjoy the food here but each time we have gone back the service has been worse and worse each time. My kids generally love eggs everywhere but they do not like them here. We have also tried to go severals times for breakfast on days that they have been listed as open and they are closed with no note on the door or message on the phone. If you are driving any amount of distance call before you go to make sure they are open. Was a big fan the first couple of times we ate here but probably won't be going back.

We ate breakfast there this morning and a great experience. Food was great and the service was awesome. I highly recommend this small town atmosphere. ?

I've been wanting to eat here for several months but haven't been able to make it fit into my schedule. Today I went for a birthday breakfast with a couple friends after a 10K and let me tell you this place did not disappoint!! Everything was amazing from the homemade cinnamon roll and donuts to the veggie omelette... I did mention number three of us right? Lol

Visited the Wicked Hen this morning for the first time. We walked in with a relatively large party and the staff welcomed us with smiles. The venue is small but very quaint and has a warm feel. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was homemade deliciousness. We've found a gem in Springfield and will definitely be going back.

Just Googled breakfast near me and this was the first option and what a discovery! It was a little busy when we got there but not to much of a wait. We had the chicken fried steak and what they call the Hash Stacker, biscuits and gravey but with hash browns and eggs on top. It was all wonderful, I especially enjoyed how they toasted the homemade biscuits before smothering them in sausage gravey. Come the next the next day and we're planning on going for lunch because that menu looked delicious too!

INCREDIBLE sausage gravy. My son first raved about it, so we had to try it as a family. My grandson loved the French toast & it was splendidly presented. We've been here numerous times since. I highly recommend it to everyone I talked to.

Overall it wasn't terrible. The food was decent, service wasn't very good. Waitress never asked if we needed a refill and I never received part of my order. It wasn't on my bill so I'm assuming that our waitress never put that part of the order in and that she just missed it. I've heard great things about this place so I'll give it a second chance to see if my first visit was just an anomaly.

The cafe opened at 9am on a Friday, and ten people wooshed right into the place. We had a nice, relaxing breakfast. It was a great time to be there, as I'm told there is a lunch rush and often a 20-minute wait on the weekends. The place is adorably decorated, even the clean, well-kept bathrooms. We both had Hadley's Hashstack, except that hubby's was stacked and mine was unstacked. It included two eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage links and hash browns. As an afterthought, we added an order of sourdough toast. You know a place is good, when even the toast is remarkable, so we asked. It's Rotella's bread, and they grill it.I'm guessing the pan was well-greased when baking, because the biscuits had a buttery-crispy texture on the bottom. The sausage gravy was salty, but then I suppose that's to be expected; it's sausage, after all, and the gravy has a good amount of it. I'm sure others are fine with it. I'm just overly sensitive to salt. Our server was welcoming, pleasant and kept the coffee cups filled.I only regret we had ordered the same meal from the menu; otherwise, we could have tasted more items. The portions are amply sized. It's the kind of meal that can take you through the whole day.The building is accessible. There are no steps upon entry. The town of Springfield makes for a lovely little drive south of Omaha on highway 50. You'll be there before you know it. Remember to turn east at the Casey's.Oh! Across the street is the Springfield Community Center, built with local sandstone at the end of the 1930s as a WPA (Works Progress Administration) project. It's on the National Register of Historic Places.

Wowzer. The portions were hefty. Our tastebuds were satisfied. We lamented why it took us so long to find this gem in Springfield. Shout out to the staff. Not only were they attentive throughout our visit, we watched them efficiently turnover the restaurant for the next wave of customers.

We've been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Had breakfast on multiple occasions, my husband raved about the sausage gravy, and I got lunch today... triple decker grilled cheese and tomato soup which was perfect for a cold Nebraska day! Service is always great even when they're busy and/or short staffed! Definitely go check it out!
