We have a farm in Niobrara and a house, In the last ten years every time we come up to Niobrara.
It always a special treat to go to Verdigre to visit the bakery, so many great selection we have to grab a couple of boxes. Mary has always taken great care of us.
I highly recommend you stop by and pick up a few treats you won’t regret it

The dough on the kolaches and rolls is so tasty. Everything I’ve tried is great, but I’m partial to anything with poppyseed. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong. Their gift certificates make great presents for any occasion.

Love love love stopping in on Saturday mornings and getting my peanut butter donut. All of the goodies are soft and flavorful. The coffee is fresh and the folks that run the shop are always welcoming and kind. No complaints from me.

Don’t waste your time trying to find them open. We have been by on 2 different occasions, once in January and then again today. Very disappointing. If they aren’t going to be open they need to take the time to change their hours on google maps. My suggestion if you want the best kolaches in the world head to West ,Tx. They have 3 different bakeries that make awesome kolaches and they are always open.

The bakery was closed when we visited September 21, 2021; sign on the door said purchase kolaches at the Bohemian One Stop. The guy there said the bakery had been closed for a year.
