We noticed there was a new Mexican restaurant in town a few days ago and knew we had to try it out! We showed up early around 4:30 so it wasn't too busy when we got there. Their menu is HUGE so it took us a little bit to all decide what we wanted.We ordered our food and it was at our table 5 minutes later! I have had 2 experiences with El Portal in Waverly and both were very good. On their first weekend, my wife and I shared an order of Nachos del Portal. They were great and ready to go when promised. This was a take out order and the place was packed so I had to wait my turn to pay, but the staff was extremely busy. The following week I ate with a larger party. Third time is the charm!We’ve been going to El Portal for years in Nebraska City and Auburn. I am so happy that the location in Waverly is now open after years of waiting. Definitely worth the wait to have it this much closer to us
