Martin, Maddie, and Evan are the best!!! Always welcoming and caring. They're always making us laugh and making sure we get the best service. I highly recommend this common man location.
We had a great dinner with Patrick as our server and a very energetic, happy hostess. The food was fabulous. It was a nice ending to my birthday.

Fabulous food, Erin was a great server … the special (butternut squash ravioli) was unreasonably great!

The Common Man is the perfect blend of charm, atmosphere and deliciousness!! There are other locations of The Common Man but this one is the original. The history of it is amazing and it is brimming with charm. The staff is amazing (special shout out to the host Martin who gave us a tour and the history of the restaurant), and the food is top notch (plus you get free crackers and cheese so you can't go wrong!) Ashland may be a small town but the restaurant is bigger than life!!

Outstanding, good food, great atmosphere, great staff and just a fun place. Recommend sitting upstairs for the pub and live music (when it is available).

Food was great, we showed up for a late lunch/early dinner around 3pm, so it was nearly empty. Food was great, but service was pretty slow. Had to ask several times (spread out over time) and two different people to ever get milk to put in the coffee, but no biggie.
Parking: Across the street.

This was one of the most unique and pleasant restaurants I have visited in awhile...what was originally the home of the owner has been turned into one of the most eclectic and amazing restaurants I have had the pleasure to visit...main entrance and a narrow winding stairway to the upstairs bar and restaurant...every room has it own distinct decor...the service is impeccable...food unique and delicious...and a great cocktail list...a wonderful dining experience...

The food was delicious. We had Yankee Pot Roast, Chicken Pot Pie, Meatloaf and Broiled Scallops. Each and everyone of us cleaned our plates. Our waitress was knowledgeable and a hoot.Og and they have a delicious cheese and cracker, help yourself table. It went great with our adult beverages.
Dietary restrictions: There were some GF offerings and one vegetarian that I remember. Plus quite a few seafood choices

Had been there many times in past but things have changed, for the worse. Coming in on a Friday of Labor Day weekend, saw only two tables with patrons. It looked empty. Took forever to get service, obviously not because of any work load. Took 30 min to order dinner, simple, then almost 30 minutes to get served. Finally I had to chase the server down to get the bill and get out. Food was marginal. Steak was dry and tasteless. Asparagus was yellow! Baked potato looked as if it were in a steamer for several days and inedible. I have seen restaurants like this just before they finally closed. Pity!

The food is great, good selection of classic American foods, the atmosphere is rustic and fantastic, this is the original common man location opened in 1972, and it still has a paint can on a pulley as it's "automatic door closer". The staff is also fantastic, highly recommend
