This is our second visit as our first experience we had Dante as our waiter. It was fun and Dante was great! Second time around we had lunch a couple weeks ago and the server just was not into us or giving us any kind of service. She never asked if we wanted anything and when we did ask she acted like we were putting her out! Food was bland and service was essentially non existent, almost as though when you go to a place where you order food at the front and then just bring it out to your table. Advice to waitstaff: less judgemental and more friendliness!

I'll start by saying that it was an unusual night. The evening after a late-March snowstorm. Raining cats and dogs. And to top it all off, the power went out for a bit while we were there. The food at Dantes is fantastic. First rate family style Italian, plus a lot of it is scratch made. I think all of the pasta on their menu is available handmade -- at least most of it -- for a small upcharge. It's well worth it. Highly recommended. They claim to use imported Italian tomatoes in their marinara. What does that mean, exactly? I don't know, but it's tasty. The waitstaff is friendly and engaged and they genuinely seem to love their jobs. That's a big plus. They took really good care of us. The portions are pretty epic. Only the teenagers managed to finish their meals. The rest of us took healthy boxes home. The only drawback I could see was that the regulars were pretty loud and kind of rude. The people at the table next to ours were chatting at the top of their lungs and swearing like sailors. They weren't even drinking! Also, they had two children in their party. I'd highly recommend Dantes. If you have children in your party and you don't want them exposed to loud cursing, I'd suggest mentioning that to the hostess. There did seem to be quieter areas of the restaurant than where we were seated.

Our first time at Dantes and definitely not going to be our last. Great atmosphere, waiter was great and the meals were amazing. I never take leftovers home but I did today. Portions were enough for 2 full meals. All 8 of us were very happy with our meals and we'll be going back soon. Thank you for an awesome dinner experience.
Got a takeout meal for four. Food was put in oversized boxes and then shaken just for the fun of it. A real mess when opened at home. The salad was old, dark lettuce leaves. Not exactly what we were expecting. YECH.
