We couldn’t be happier with our experience at the Bedford Village Inn. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The staff leading up to the big day were so kind, organized, and helpful, and the day-of team was just as incredible - attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was amazing, and the venue itself is truly a dream. Every corner of the property is filled with charm and character, creating the most romantic and memorable setting. We already can’t wait to come back for anniversaries at the Tavern - it will always hold such a special place in our hearts.
If you are looking for a nice dinner in the Merrimack/Amherst/Bedford/Manch area, try Trattori Fondi at the BVI! We have been several times and it does not disappoint! I got the chance to catch up with one of my girls there last night. It is our usual meet up spot and such a great atmosphere and meal! The staff is beyond kind and I love that they can read a room. They are not rushing you but still checking in at just the right times. Spring Panzenella Salad, Linguini Nero and Hugo Spritz.. yummy!!
Ok I guess. A tad pretentious for what it is. Liked the tavern better.

We decided to join some friends and meet at the Trattario Fondi on a recent Friday night. We had called and was informed that the do not accept reservation but if we arrived early there was a good chance of seating. We arrived at 4;30 and was told there was a wedding rehearsal party that would be celebrating until 6:00 or after. It would seem fair that if you are inquiring about a particular date to make reservations, then it would be nice to be informed. Example--the restaurant will not be open to the public until such and such a time as there is a event taking place. So, off to the tavern we go. We were seated in the back area which was fine and less noise. Our waitress was very pleasant but we were asked at least fine times if we were ready to order drinks or appetizers. After the fifth time asking we ordered drinks and chicken wings. My friend and I thought the same about the drink that the raspberry flavor was great but I think that the alcohol was totally missing. We received out chicken wings (super small and 5 of them so we all had one for some crazy price of $16.....We ordered the Tavern burger and I had only eaten a couple bites and requested to take the rest home ( the chicken wing had really filled me up-lol) and upon leaving there was no container.of my food. I know it's only a burger and fries but.... so certainly not the worse thing that could have happened but nonetheless next time ( not soon) I may just have a appetizer and drink before we go.
We have been going to the Bedford Village Inn for meals ever since it opened in the 1980’s and have had many elegant meals there. But pretension has overcome quality the last few times we have dined here. In our most recent experience we were seated at a table right at the door to the dining room. There were several vacant tables for two elsewhere in the room but when I inquired about switching, I was told they were “reserved”. They remained vacant the whole time we were there. Our server was supercilious and was so busy name dropping that he never placed the order for my husband’s salad and ordered a soufflé for me that I had inquired about but then stated I preferred to look at the complete dessert menu. The one bright spot of the evening was that the entrees were excellent. The desserts were mediocre.
The tavern and the restaurant are outstanding! The food is top notch - we equated it to our recent dinner at the four seasons. I like the tavern because it’s a bit more casual atmosphere. It’s extremely reasonably price for the high quality of food. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else in the area because there is no comparison.
I have been to the Tavern a few times now and I just love it. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is top notch. Our waiter was Hailey(most likely spelled differently) she had the same name as my daughter but told me it was probably spelled differently. I ordered a dirty martini which was made perfectly. For my lunch, I ordered the French dip. The sandwich was absolutely delicious! I will definitely order it again. Even the leftovers were delicious! I highly recommend the Tavern to anyone. Thanks to Hailey, our server for a wonderful experience.
Had a nice lunch there recently. You can relax here. I LOVE the lack of televisions on the walls. It's quiet with good service and an inn atmosphere--no rushing around, no blaring music. Good place to take a date. The mrs. and I both had burgers which were perfectly cooked. Her fries were excellent. My burger had ham, cheese and an egg on it. I had home fries which were good but not quite warm enough. I added a chicken stew which was excellent. I had coffee which was so-so and that's fine. I'm a coffee nut so don't expect much more than colored coffee flavored water. My only complaint was the coffee was priced at 6$. 6$!!!!!. My wife's soda was $4.99. Huh? I'm okay with an $18 burger and even a $20 super-duper burger. But I was gouged on the drinks.
This is a cute place. I was there to celebrate a birthday. I ordered a Caesar with grilled chicken. Oh my. It was awful. Chicken breast was so black and overcooked I could not eat it. I have never seen a Caesar this bad. Tiny amount of lettuce and about 100 too many croutons. Two of my friends got the breakfast sandwich. It was a teeny croissant sandwich with some really ugly purple potato’s. Honestly. Pitiful. We ordered a crème brûlée that was ice cold. The top should have been freshly applied and warm. My suggestion is to get a better chef. The waitress was kind and tried her best.
A must visit! Top notch service and accommodations. Excellent food and atmosphere. Highly recommended

Always enjoy working at the BVI whether for weddings and baby showers or corporate events. The staff is always flexible, quick to respond and adapt, and ready to help at any time. Thanks BVI for being such a wonderful venue to work and celebrate in!
So much local hype about the BVI. Went there for an anniversary dinner. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes before we were asked if we wanted something to drink. In the next 10 minutes we got a basket of bread and our drinks. Not sure why it took so long, but after that things went more like you would expect. Crab cakes and chowder appetizers were good. We both ordered steaks, one rib eye and one sirloin. They were mostly cooked appropriately, but very little seasoning. Meat was not tender at all. We had no problem paying over $50 for each if the quality was there. Pretty outrageous for what we got. You can go to Texas Roadhouse for half the price and get a steak multiple times better in quality. Are they living off their reputation? Did their order of meats get mixed up from their supplier? Not sure. Very disappointing.
We stayed at BVI for 4 nights over Christmas weekend. Lovely! Spacious room, well insulated for sound, we didn’t hear other guests & are pretty sure they didn’t hear us. 2 Queen poster beds were clean, crisp & comfortable. Bathroom also spacious. Huge tub & shower. Dimmable lights in room & vanity were appreciated. Nice rainfall shower. Towels were fluffy. Didn’t use robe but 2 provided. Nice shower products. Gym was large and equipment in good repair. Towels & filtered water. Hot tub year around/didn’t use. Provided a Firestick to stream our favorite shows. Common areas very sweet - though a little threadbare. Downsides: A little wear (sink spigot loose), hair dryer so-so, bedding getting worn, refrigerator iced up/insufficient cooling, tablet only worked when connected to base & no microwave. Service very friendly! Attentive - especially in restaurants. Housekeeping super responsive. Only not up to par on our last night when didn’t get room as well picked up as on prior 3 days - otherwise +++. Pricy, some recent upgrades & some upgrades needed. We really enjoyed our stay & appreciated the effort the staff made to make our holiday experience all we could have wanted.
As newcomers to the area without family nearby, we were really looking forward to an elegant Thanksgiving dinner at the Bedford Village Inn. It is a beautiful property for sure, but the issues began right from the start and only went down hill from there. The “hostess” stood by as my husband and I tried to move a heavy table out so I could sit down, as both table and chair were pushed against a wall. We had to pull the other chair out, use all our strength to move the heavy table, then my husband had to move the table back in place by himself. All while she looked on. Food was edible at best, with salads at room temperature and warm-ish, flavorless entrees. The dessert of Carrot Cake Bread Pudding was served cold. Our waiter was functional, as in he did his job very well. If you do decide to dine here, I would suggest you manage your expectations as the BVI doesn’t measure up to what it purports itself to be.
Stopped by on the way back to our hotel from a recommendation from LaBelle Winery since their kitchen was closed on Tuesdays. We are so glad we did! Nicole was our server and she was spot on with her recommendations! The mushroom pizza was perfect AND they have gluten-free crust upon request - delicious - Nicole even brought us gluten-free bread too! The salad was also wonderful! Thank you for a great experience on a perfect day to be outside!
