I visited Murphy’s on Friday, June 27 around 7pm, and while the place definitely has atmosphere—bright lighting, a large bar, spacious dining area, and a welcoming patio—that’s unfortunately where the positives end. We sat at the corner of the bar and watched a bartender do dishes for several minutes before I asked if he was a barback. He explained he had already been cut for the night but offered to tell the other bartender. To his credit, he returned shortly after to take our drink order. I got a beer, and my girlfriend ordered a raspberry lemonade. The beer was fine. The lemonade, however, arrived unmixed, and when she mentioned it, the response was to just stir it herself. Our bartender returned promptly at first, but once we said we weren’t quite ready to order, she disappeared for what felt like a very long time. By the time she came back, I had finished my beer. We placed an order for the margarita pizza and steak & cheese spring rolls—originally planning to skip appetizers, but we were getting too hungry to wait. I also ordered another beer. Here’s the baffling part: the place wasn’t even busy. The patio had a few tables, but the inside was nearly empty. Still, the food took forever. When it finally arrived, the pizza was clearly not a margarita. It was a four-cheese with a few tomato slices and some basil thrown on. No fresh mozzarella in sight. The spring rolls were lukewarm at best. When the bartender checked in, we mentioned that the food wasn’t hot and joked about the pizza being incorrect. She offered to make it right, which I appreciated, but we declined—we had tickets for a 9pm show and didn’t have time to wait again. Bottom line: the service was inattentive, the food came out cold, and the order was wrong—all on a slow night. Murphy’s has a nice setup, but the experience left a lot to be desired.
Everything was great at Murphy's Taproom. It was a beautiful sunny day so we chose patio seating. The food & drinks were excellent & Jenn did a superb job attending us.
Fathers day buffet was very poor... server told us buffet was 30 minutes behind.... waited over an hour before we could eat. Buffet options were not as advertised.. no roasted suckling pig, no ribs, no bison stew, pork shanks were luke warm and not sauced, no elk, no duck legs instead we got boiled duck wings.. no prosciutto asparagus. no one was refilling buffet and had to ask for multiple items to be refilled. lamb was not seasoned and pork shanks looked refresh from the boil-in-bag... 75$????? for this? embarrassing food example of food service.
Your Father’s Day Carnivore Buffet was a Huge disappointment! You advertised a buffet with completely different food than was served to us. Not to mention the fact that there was no food to serve until 1 hour after our reservation. If you charge $75 for a buffet needs to be as advertised or better. It was a completely different menu with much cheaper food. Pro tip, don’t lie to your regular customers, it pisses us off. It will be a LONG time before I return.
I will preface this with I went for a brunch buffet service. My rating is solely based on that, and my hope is that the restaurant's quality, flavor and value is much higher for regular service. Their earliest slot was 1:45 (but running until 4PM) so I booked three days prior. The owner was hospitable both when inquiring and at arrival, however the young woman who brought us to our table was a bit apprehensive and said “you can just sit here if you want”. Much less welcoming. I made a reservation, so not knowing where she should seat us was a red flag. There were a small handful of parties spaced well out between us. Again, weird because we had to make a reservation. Our waiter was a gentleman, from filling our water glasses to checking in throughout our meal. He was very polite and I hope he gets all the praise. There was no champagne or prosecco. For a Mother's Day buffet, you had run out of the key ingredient for the most popular alcoholic brunch drink? Another red flag. The buffet was located in the carriage house, which is fine, but walking through three dining/bar areas just to get food was bizarre. We walked into the buffet to multiple empty tables with linens. It seemed like this was where reservations were housed. Now the food. There were two salad offerings; one a mandarin arugula salad with dressing on the side, the other an over-dressed “lemon charred” Caesar salad. The further was untouched while the latter a soggy, sparse mess. Each station got a little more disappointing, either cold or not refilled, utensils filthy and caked with the remnants of previous use. I don't expect fresh utensils each guest, thats impossible. But an hourly change limits the spread of bacteria and cross contamination and these were sitting for hours at best. None of the offerings were refilled on any of our visits up, each going up at least twice. $60 a head for a bare bones buffet was upsetting, unfulfilling and uninspiring.
Mothers Day Brunch Buffet - chocolate fountain had very little fruit, and other dipping foods available at 1:00. They did not restock anytime after that. No pasta dishes. Food was ok, but not a lot of selections. Omelet was made fresh and was good. Server forgot my drink, brought the other 4 people drinks one at a time. 3 non alcoholic and two mixed cocktails. 20% gratuity automatically included on a Buffet! $60 per person was way overpriced.
The Mother's Day Brunch was outstanding. Everybody was able to get their favorite foods and the food was prepared really well. My favorite was the prime rib with au jus, but my daughter was thrilled with the donut bar. Even the bacon was great. Other than the brunch, Murphy's has a great menu that changes often enough to keep things interesting. However, they've always featured a Rueben sandwich, which is just to die for. Definitely worth the calories!
Hannah our server was super sweet and hospitable ! Food took a bit long to arrive, however, our group loved the wings and the ribs ! We also enjoyed our drinks and the live music
Great food. Server was great. But restaurant is severely under waitstaffed, which caused very slow inconsistent dining event.
First time there. Had been on our list of places to try for a long time. Sat on the patio. It was Friday night so there was live music. You are also right on the road so it is quite loud. Service was friendly but very slow. 20 mins to put in drink order and 45 for food. Food was average. I would stick with the apps and go somewhere else for dinner.

I had the rib special which was gigantic! Apple slaw was decent. However the ribs were dry and overcooked. The others in my group had steak which was not cooked to their liking and came out rare. When shared with the waitress, she said she'd let the kitchen know. Nothing else, nothing comped. There's a reason why you can get in last minute on a weekend night. We all agreed we would not be returning.
Mediocre - head to Copper Door instead.
Food is terrible, over priced and the service is slow and rude. If that isn’t enough to discourage you from going to this place you need to know it is absolutely filthy. Filthy to the point where you can tell ownership is cheap and management is not capable of running a clean restaurant. Don’t go.
