I can't remember the last time I regretted eating somewhere, but this was it. The service was lovely, and no offense to the hard working teenagers working in that hot shack with the friers going, but we all wished we hadn't eaten there. The fried clams were charcoal--way over fried. The chicken tenders were pretty good, and the hot dog was... well, it's a hot dog. Thin wimpy fries. I greatly appreciated the server who steered us away from some ice cream flavors because those were "too artificial tasting" (e.g., southern peach), but we found our ultimately-chosen four flavors to be similarly fake. We laughed about the experience afterwards, which was the best part of the entire experience.

Great little seafood shack with excellent clam strips, fries, and of course ice cream! Also there are flowers everywhere, perfect for my macro shots. We come up to Bristol at least once a year and Shackett's is always on the agenda.
Kid-friendliness: They had a little corn hole setup outside for people to play with.

So typically we go there for the ice cream because it is the best around. However, we decided to have dinner there. They have the best lobster roll I have ever seen. Heaped high with chunk lobster special sauce! Superb! We also had the sausage sub and macaroni bites which are really fantastic! Shacketts is awesome!
Parking: If you go at peak meal times the parking lot will be challenging.

When I'm in New Hampshire I normally make it to Shack it's two or three times this summer tonight was my first time and it was awful the haddock basket was burnt the french fries were burnt and the tartar sauce with sour I won't be going there again this

Seafood was very skimpy, we paid around 70 buck's and got about 30 buck's worth of food, sorry but as far as I'm concerned I got completely ripped
Skip it. Overpriced freezer burned child portions. The fish in thr fish and chips was a boxed grocery store quality and about 3 inches by 4 inches...smaller than a pop tart and underwhelming. The fries are freezer burned and chewy, the clam belly meal was just sad. There were about 6 burned crispy clumps paired with the chewy fries and nowhere near worth over $22. The lobster roll was ok, but once again..very small. The clam chowder was not even a cup, it was clearly canned and served in a condiment container that you usually get duck sauce in at a Chinese takeout,and I've heard the ice cream here us in very small portions as well. We got our food, took a few bites and chucked it and ordered a Pizza from down the street.

After the lake we decided to try shacketts for clams, hadn’t been in a few years, last time they were very good. Well not this time, we ordered the belly clams, both orders were over cooked, and hardly any bellies. Actually my daughter later that night felt sick, she did say one of her clams were chewing and she had spit it out. So disappointed, not sure if I will try a second time, 22.00 isn’t expensive but it is when the clams weren’t sweet or tasty or cooked correctly.

Used to be decent, but now prices are way too high and servings way too small for ice cream at least, servings used to be bigger and prices lower by a good amount. Fries are okay, but everything else was very bland and definitely not worth it. Better to go somewhere else.
