Very, very nice! A great addition to the Upper Valley and isn't it great to have it right here on Canaan? I had a house salad with pulled pork and I was pleasantly surprised at just how good the salad was. Often salads are just an afterthought at BBQ joints, but not here. Fresh crispy lettuce, perfect croutons, perfectly ripe tomatoes and cucumbers and a very nice blue cheese dressing. I had a rib from my friends sampler combo and it was scrumptious! I'll be back for a plate of my own.Dietary restrictions: The salads are great! Large and hearty enough for a complete vegetation meal.Parking: About ten spots in the adjacent lot and more across the street on the town lot.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space, there's toys, high chairs, a good kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in, good ramp.

The wings are out of this world!!! Great local restaurant and pub that takes pride in their quality of barbecue, and also takes care to make sure you enjoy the Poor House experience!

When my friend suggested BBQ in New Hampshire, I wasn't especially convinced. However, I will say, this place was better than I expected! The space is pretty big and open, so it can accommodate plenty of people. I enjoyed chatting with the staff, especially one individual who brought over a bunch of BBQ sauces for us to try. If you're a party of two, I recommend splitting one of the combos. We got the Three Meat Combo, which was just the right size. The meats were pretty solid, especially slathered in sauce, with the ribs being my favorite. The sides hit the spot, too. Look no further if you're trying to get your meat fix!

What a gem in Canaan!! The BBQ is the best around, no question. Really liked the jalapeño baked beans and vinegar coleslaw too, server super friendly and overall good vibe. Will def be back! Cheers!

Was my 1st time here i got loaded nachos with pulled pork with a couple of switchback beers on tap of course ? the kitchen is right there when u come in the doors so u can check out what the chef is preparing, plenty of room at the bar for all u single dinners llike myself ,staff are pleasant the people on the side of me gave thumbs up on there food will b going back for the entertainment on Saturday and some beef brisket i highly recommendWheelchair accessibility: There's handicap ramp from the parking lot which is small but there's plenty of parking on the street
First time for us, but wont be a last!!! Honestly we had difficulty in picking our meals, everything sounded so good!!! I ended up with the 2 meat combo, ribs and pulled chicken. My sides were the apple baked beans and slaw. He got half rack of ribs, baked spud and slaw! Our server was helpful in describing sides, vinegar slaw etc. As we waited for our food, we saw enormous plates of food for other diners. Those that were leaving all had take home boxes! Alas our food came!!! Ribs were a dry rub, with a dish of sauce. Beans were sweet and so flavorful. The slaw was equally as good!!! Now for the meats!!!! Omg the ribs were nicely done, juicy and extremely tender and did fall off the bone! The pulled chicken was juicy and tender and just so good!!! But honestly, the ribs had my focus!! Cornbread was sweet and tied in wonderfully!!! He sat eating quietly, which meant he only came up for air!!! He devoured the ribs, and sides!!! We both laughed when our server asked for dessert!!! Yes we both took home boxes of food we couldnt finish as other customers did. We both enjoyed our meal so much, we took pics to send to our friends for future visits!!! We will be back again, to savor more dishes!!! So nice to have a class act bbq in this area!!!

Delicious dinner! Enjoyed the nachos with pulled pork, huge meaty wings, Mac and cheese, and the smash burger. All food got two thumbs up from the family! Looking forward returning to try more!

first time for us but not the last!!! The ribs are the best we have ever had! Dry rub with sauce to dip but the ribs were juicy, tender, fall off the bone kind!!! I tried the 2 meat combo, hard decision to make! ribs and pulled chicken. Both were the best ever!!! tender and juicy! sides were delish, slaw and apple beans! wow were they good! The corn bread was sweet and tasty. Hubby had the half ribs, baked and slaw. it was so good he only came up for air!!!! no talking!!! Neither of us attempt to finish so we took boxes home!!! Canaan has a wonderful treasure!!!! we took pics of our food to show friends that we will be bringing with us next time!!! server was awesome explaining choices. We found a fav place to eat!!!
