Visited the CrowBar Hardware store for the first time last evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cocktail menu is imaginative and extensive with a terrific beer and wine offering as well. The menu is not extensive, but there's definitely something for everyone, done well. Service was attentive and energetic. We checked out the Whiskey Bar downstairs and it felt like stepping back in time to Prohibition Era. Highly recommend.

First let me say this place has a fun concept, from the way you enter at the front door to the atmosphere once inside to the sweet little whiskey room downstairs. Where they run into problems is the quality of food and the high prices. We were a party of 5 with a reservation. We were seated at a table with a couch on one side and 2 chairs on the other. Sitting on the couch and reaching the table was very awkward, hence it made eating and drinking uncomfortable. There were few if any drinks under $15 and the dinners were $30 plus for entrees, unless you wanted a burger. I feel these prices are quite high for Claremont. Maybe in a big city, but not Claremont. All of the servings of French fries at our table arrived cool, not hot, and I was told that they had run out of scallops as the rest of my friends were being served their dinners. This after being told they had run out of Filet. And it was a Saturday night. They did comp my meal when it finally arrived and we had a wonderful time after dinner in the downstairs whiskey bar. The bartender down there was exceptional. I really wanted to like this place.

Atmosphere is great. Drinks are good. The food really was a disappointment. The fried pickles were $10 for about a 1/2 a cups worth. The fried burrata was actually plain ole mozzarella. The proof is it was incredibly hard to cut versus burrata that would have melted in the center. The pasta was stuck together and was a small portion for the price. My friends didn't finish their meals. So overall, great place for a drink but skip the food.

Atmosphere is pretty cool.Drinks are great. The food needs a lot of work, especially for the price. $10 fried pickles came out and there were 1/2 cup worth. The fried burrata was actually fried mozzarella and it was super tough to cut and share. Pasta clumped together, not cooked well.

This was kinda disappointing. The atmosphere was fantastic. Our server Crystal was awesome. But the food was less than par and it was extremely expensive for what we received. The theme and concept would be awesome in a big city like New York or Boston. But if they want to be successful here in Claremont NH, they really need to up their game, serve exceptional food and lower their prices a little. We might go back, I can change my review if it improves, but I'm not really sure if I want to give it another chance.

This was my second time visiting and both times were delightful. The food and drink was spot on. The service was friendly and though the owner said that he was short staffed it was difficult to tell. I didn't feel stress to finish up and enjoyed the company of friends. I will definitely be returning. The only complaint that I have is the pictures in the ladies bathroom seem more suited to the bathroom in a gay bar. Come on, give us ladies something to go home and smirk about!

After receiving the response from the owner, it is still dissapointing, although there are reviews saying it's like a speakeasy, nothing read said I needed to ring a doorbell.I knocked after pulling on the entrance door.Is the doorbell hidden? Is this for locals only? The entrance area was not lit up as in some of the pictures.A usual indication of a closed business.I thought it looked like a fun place, but the secret entry obviously kept this patron out.Arrived at 945.Doors locked.Dissapointing.

The food, the drinks, the people - all phenomenal. The cocktail menu has many tempting offerings but I highly recommend letting the bartender figure out something just for you. Also, order dessert before your entree. Everything is delicious but you can reheat any main course you can't finish, you're going to want every bite of dessert right then and there. Also, go with people you can share food with. You're going to want to taste everything.

Love the atmosphere!! Drinks were great!! Food was not worth the price. The braised short ribs had to be cut off the bone, and barely warm. The mashed potatoes and green beans were cold.I got a burger which tasted good but I ordered it with sautéed mushrooms and cheese, both for an extra charge, neither came out on my burger, but also never came off the bill. This could be a great place with a different chef, or lower the food prices to accommodate the mediocrity of expectation.

Lady's and gentlemen, the crowbar is an experience that our sleepy little town has needed for a long time. With amazing food like the sausage sampler that will send you on a flavor experience like no other. If you're looking for a quiet place to sit and have a nice drink, this is claremonts best kept secret to find. Just ask one of their seven covert mixologists, Murphy, Elise, Addy, Dee, Rose, Dennis, or Ace, about the very closely guarded mix drinks they keep for the rainy day or the just so special occasion. And with deals such as the $2 Tuesdays and Throwback Thursday's where if you come in 20's or 30's attire you'll Enjoy a generous 10% off you cant afford not to vist on your next date night with the misses. And if you just so happen to find this diamond in the rough stay tuned for the near future! For this Gem among gems has been keeping a secret that you'll not want to miss out on!
