Every so often, I keep going back to this place hoping it is better. It STILL isn't better. Since they sold 10+ years ago nothing has been the same. I would have been fine with different, but it has only gotten worse. Quality and quantity has diminished greatly!. There never was much ambience to this place but it was always cozy, yet full of life! Now it is just blah. You don't get real wasabi with sushi now, it is wasabi paste. Whomever makes the sushi takes no pride because it is sloppy and falls apart before you can even look at it. There Miso soup has gone to crap and not improved. Seaweed salad has gone from amazingly yummy, beautiful, and full of roe and panko. Now it isn't even edible!! Up until recently every order came with multiple Miso soup but now you don't even get that! Just a chinsy salad. Save your money and travel to keene, west leb or Manchester! Any of which are worth the money and better than this!!

Was not impressed with the sushi. Miniscule amount of salmon in the Philadelphia roll. Same went for the Dragon roll although we didn't bother to get a photo of it. Hibachi dinners were good. Also have never been denied a seat at the hibachi. Yes, we were just a couple, 4 other couples came in after we did, none allowed a hibachi seat. It wasn't until a family of 4 (2 were practically toddlers) were allowed a hibachi seat.

The spicy Santa is definitely my favorite sushi roll. The hibachi meals could be better but definitely the best in the area. The rice wasn't very good but the steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Environment doesn't feel super clean but good Japanese food is so limited in the area that I consider Kouzoku a win and I will be returning. It seems family run so wait staff are young and don't necessarily have the customer service skills one would expect in a restaurant but I do love that I'm supporting a small business when I eat there.

Our chef was amazing! Very friendly and put on a great show. Generally the service beyond the chef was below average. I had to ask them to clean the hibachi table/station after we had already sat down and food had already been sterted to be served. The restaurant itself is very old and rundown looking both outside and inside. Compliments to our chef once again.

Not for an epicurean. Worst Japanese food I've ever had. Hands down. Miso soup is a disrespect to Japanese culture.
