Any 5 star review for this restaurant must be bots because this place is awful nothing close to best subs

Dustin Frazier

Oh gosh, where do we start? During my recent visit to Best Subs, my experience was, regrettably, more memorable for its shortcomings than its culinary delights, meriting a two-star review. The visit began promisingly with the chick-parm sub, where the bread was a highlight, offering a delightful texture and taste that suggested a kitchen capable of crafting quality sandwiches. However, the sandwich itself was notably deficient in meat, leaving me regretting not opting for the double meat upgrade—a decision that should perhaps be standard rather than an afterthought for ensuring customer satisfaction. The atmosphere of Best Subs, punctuated by an array of religious-themed posters, set a unique backdrop that could have offered a quaint charm were it not for the jarring disruption of a staff member’s unsolicited political monologue. This occurred after a simple expression of disappointment over the absence of steak for a desired Philly cheese steak—an interaction that was not only out of place but also marred the dining experience with its inappropriateness.Compounding the discomfort of the visit was the state of the Keurig machine, which was visibly neglected, evidenced by a concerning green film at the bottom. The decision to run water through the machine in hopes of a simple cup of hot water resulted in an unpleasantly "sweet" smell, indicating a dire need for maintenance and raising questions about the overall hygiene standards upheld by the establishment. In conclusion, while Best Subs shows potential in its ability to produce a sandwich with commendably tasty bread, the overall experience is significantly diminished by a lack of attention to detail in both food preparation and the maintenance of a welcoming dining environment. The unsolicited political commentary and the unsanitary condition of the coffee machine speak to a broader issue of management oversight and customer service that urgently needs addressing. For an establishment named Best Subs, the expectation is to excel not only in the quality of its subs but also in creating an environment that complements the dining experience rather than detracts from it.

I've been going to Best Subs for many years. The subs are excellent and the owner is friendly. I definitely recommend Best Subs as one of the best affordable options for lunch in Claremont.

Steer clear of the chains and the pizza joints. This is the best place to get a homemade Sub in Claremont.

Nice slices of turkey and the bread is good but it's a little pricey.

I thought this place was supposed to be "the best" but the cheeseburger sub is just a dry hamburger and a piece of cheese on a sub roll and the chicken teriyaki sub is four sad looking chicken strips on a sub roll. For spending $45 (including an order of fries and onion rings) I'm extremely disappointed.

Horrible, straight garbage , went 2 times , 2 times order was wrong . 1st time ordered a sub. Got a bulkie roll . 2nd time ordered hot pastrami asked to doubble check that's hot right? He says yes, I said of course it's on the hot sub menu! Get the sub and it's ice cold, bread smells like beer Like fermented or Yeast . They put 0 effort into presentation or flavor .never again for me ! Owner needs to check out other places so he can see how below the bar this place is , it's sad street vendors can make something 10xbetter with just a lil cart now a days .step up you game ! Bring some pride to your town , put some effort into it. I prefer to pay more ,for less of something good . Than to eat a huge pile of sh...t.

Place used to be the best subs back before they moved. Now the staff doesn’t know what they’re doing and always argue with each other every time I go, the food isn’t seasoned and over cooked, it’s just awful and disappointing now.
