We have been to the Black Bear Tavern multiple times since the new owners took over. What used to be spotty service and food, now is consistently very good food and service! Very well run with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend, hats off to the new owners on a wonderful job!

I had the outlaw burger and the tomato was rotten and the avocado spread was nasty and the burger had no taste, the only good thing on the tray was the fries.

We tried this place after receiving a tip from Yelp and we're very glad we did! Best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten in my life✌️ everything was top notch...our poor server was out straight dealing with a table of 18 plus us and 3 other tables. We felt bad but left her a well deserved tip! ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ We visited a second time and are happy to say that everything was just as good as the first time we visited! The Steak, meatloaf, Patriot burger and shrimp scampi were all incredible!! Highly recommend this little gem in the north country!

Definitely would never return. After spending almost 100 on lunch.. The wings we asked for extra crispy and came out with not a single bit of crisp. So much so we sent our garlic parm wings back because they were barely cooked.

Steak tips were little chewy not great flavor, mashed potatoes were plenty good but the veg medley was not for me. Mac n cheese was good and big portion. Service was good for being a busy night. About $75 dinner with no alcoholic drinks. Not cheap but not crazy expensive.
You guys have the best food ever...We came up to enjoy a great Lunch ..you certainly get money's worth for sure at BBT ...the soups the burgers the mac & cheese my husband and I got were delicious... My brother & his wife ordered the haddock sandwich & club sandwich was just fantastic 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 BLACK BEAR 🐻 TAVERN IS A 5- Star

This was worst place to eat tonight food was cold after waiting 1 1/2 hours to be served. Ask for steak tips to be well done they came out bloody red. Ice tea had no flavor taste like water. Other people complained about their meals being cold as well. Worst service and food I have ever had. My husband thought he would take me out for my birthday to have good time and meal that didn’t happen black bear food was the worst tonight. I asked for a take out box to show everyone how uncooked meat was and it was cold in the restaurant.

Great place and surprisingly bigger than expected, was fairly busy on a Saturday noon. Plenty of menu options , and the local Coos Dooryard IPA rivals our Maine IPAs.

Never have I ever been part of a party and called ridiculous for ordering a second drink from our waitress. The food was good but the service was horrendous with a country atmosphere.
