Underground Bakery & Cafe

Underground Bakery & Cafe was a recent find and will be a daily stop while we’re on vacation! The iced coffee is amazing and has coffee iced cubes so it doesn’t get watery. They have homemade pastries and treats, we tried the ring ding and salted caramel cake which were both 10/10. I highly recommend this local gem!

Stopped for lunch, had the French onion soup- it was delicious! The owner took her lunch break at the same time and we had a wonderful conversation. I took home a coffee cake which was divine. 💖

Pretty disappointing. Iced coffee was basically frozen coffee cubes with water over it and tasted like water down coffee. Hot apple cider came out of a packet and dumped into hot water. Baked goods didn’t taste homemade. Service was decent and the atmosphere was a cool vibe but only three tables available.

Solid sandwich

Quite hidden in a very dark underground setting. Waitress was serving regular customers before us, and was about to offer the last table to the regular customers despite arriving before them. Aside from this, corn soup and avocado sandwich were really good. Desserts looked good, although on the more expensive price range.

Great place for quiet breakfast and good home cooking food.

We were visiting the area and stumbled upon this incredible restaurant. We loved everything about it. The food was delicious.
The cannolis were amazing, actually the best we have ever had. The wait staff were the best. They could teach a master course of how to run a restaurant. They made us feel like we had been invited into their own kitchen and we're cooking just for us.

Fabulous beyond description... from the friendly staff to the tablecloths, linen napkins and good silverware not to mention the five-star WONDERFULLY FRESH & DELICIOUS food at a reasonable price... you HAVE TO go there!

Line at the national chain was out the door so we stumbled upon this gem. Amazing food, service and coffee. My husband loved the iced coffee had coffee ice cubes even. Recommend the breakfast wrap!

The chai latte was amazing! Also the homemade funny bones are incredible. Its a good thing I don't live close by because it might become an addiction. The owner and the staff are very attentive and friendly. Great customer service. We felt very comfortable here.

They baked my cake for my 30th birthday, and it was magnificent. We called a week in advanced and they were able to make it happen, which we were very grateful for.

They took every idea I had into consideration and it came out exactly how the photos on my Pintrest board looked (I know this sounds silly, but when so much planning goes into throwing a dinner party, having things come out how you imagined is important!). We were enjoying our time so much that we forgot to get a photo of the cake before it was cut - that is my only regret, I'm sorry I don't have a photo to share!

It was a showstopping 8" three layer vanilla cake with chocolate ganache filling and vanilla buttercream, that was so tall it could not fit in the bakery box. The swirls of buttercream on top made it look so fancy, and the sprinkles on the side for decoration came out exactly how we described over the phone while placing the order. It made me gasp when it was brought out. I've never had a cake like this before. It was beautiful.

Even with its size, the ladies packaged the cake up securely and it was very easy to transport home.

And most importantly, it was delicious!! The buttercream was not too sweet and was not heavy. It was so light and fluffy, it complimented the ganache perfectly. The cake was so moist and flavorful I found myself eating just the cake, then going back for bites of the buttercream & ganache together. It was amazing, everyone enjoyed it so much.

My apologies again for not snapping a photo, we were enjoying the moment so much that it completely slipped everyone's minds. You truly made my 30th birthday amazing and we can't wait to order again from you in the future!

We also snagged a few pastries from the bakery for breakfast, and both were delicious as well!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at this hidden gem. We both ordered the pasta dishes and they were amazing. We finally found our go to restaurant when we travel through North Conway. Next time we'll save room for the pastries.

This was our 1st time visiting the underground bakery. The breakfast was Amazing best potatoes I've ever had. I wish we had found this place earlier in our vacation. Will definitely be telling everyone about it.❤️❤️

What a lovey cafe with lovely people. The coffee was great as well as breakfast and the desserts. The carrot cake muffin was delicious! The owner has her heart and soul invested in this cafe and just one of sweetest people we met in our vacation journey. She has a wonderful staff as well. Will definitely return when in the area again.
