I go to Philbrook (Philly) instead of Hoco during the weekdays because Philly has much better food than Hoco. Sadly Philly is closed on weekends and that I still have to go to Hoco since it is the only dining hall open during weekends. Hoco’s food quality has gone downhill throughout the recent years.

I have been going to HOCO for all three years of my college experience. I eat 3 meals a day so am effectively paying 7$ a meal. I can take 3 plates of food everytime, choose from a variety of rotating options, and eat from 7AM-9PM with all of my friends. It's not superb quality food but there are lots of options (if you're creative) and its also very nutritious. Most of the staff are remarkably friendly.

I've seen moldy bread and bugs in the salad. There is no hot food after 7pm and all of the stations except the main line close, despite the dining hall being open until 9. There are few options on weekends. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, good luck. Vegan and vegetarian meals range from mediocre to inedible. Get used to eating vegan shakshuka, which is just unseasoned cold canned tomato sauce and canned chickpeas.

Decent food. The daily menu is misleading sometimes and the eggs are almost always burnt. Other than that, pretty solid, good variety

I’m appalled by how terrible the dining hall at Holloway Commons is run. Today I waited 24 minutes in a line of 10 people for stir fry, when there were SIX WORKERS behind the grill just chatting and hanging out. I’ve seen it run much more efficient with just 2-3 workers; on top of that, my food was cold. Nothing is ever restocked and I see workers on their phones constantly, walking around and doing nothing. That really says something about the leadership you have here. I don’t blame the workers getting paid $12/hr with no direction of what to do. If the food is gonna be consistently bad, I won’t be getting any more meal plans from here. Not one fork was stocked in the building and had to eat my stir fry with a spoon. It’s appalling how this place continues to be allowed to even serve food. I even saw one of the stir fry workers picking at his nose while on the grill, and another flipping off their friend, as well as another with their head under the protective glass that is supposed to stop spit/germs from going on the grill. Just overall low quality food and terrible workers. No true leadership here which is why the place has gotten worse throughout the years.

My rating for HOCO used to be 5 stars but I've found since covid the quality of food has gone down. It seems to be going down as years go by. There are things that are usually good such as things at the salad and deli bar.
