This place has incredibly good food. It’s a place that’s well liked, but still underrated in my opinion. I usually get the “parma sutra” burger, but you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.

First take as a family of 4 non college students it was a loud atmosphere.
But we sat down and ordered:1- parma sutra, 1- fatty cheese burger , 1- southern hotty, 1- classic cheese burger, 1- plain ol' cheese burger and 1- Belly burger.
All come with a nice little bag of fries so they don't get soggy. Pickles have a delicious sweet heat to them and the sauce is really good.
The burgers are amazing and everyone at the table loved their meals.
10/10.

This is one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had. Try the Don Elote, you won’t regret it

Stopped in while visiting campus. Was greeted with a smiling face asking if we needed any help with the menu. Think her name was Em. Me and my guest both choose the Basic Chicken Sandwich. It was delicious! Fries were hot. Dug into them before snapping a pic. Can’t wait to come back to do it again.

Its a cool place but I saw something that it was like top five burgers in the state. So we drove over from Hampton and got the belly burger and fries. I wasn't impressed at all. It was okay but far from one of the best burgers I've ever had. I don't need to go back. A couple burgers, fries and sodas will be like $40
I usually do not write bad reviews, but seeing as how the decline of a staple hurts me, I feel as if I have to write.
I was disappointed with Hop + Grind recently. I have been coming here since 2018-2019. I was always satisfied with the establishment, the atmosphere, and the pricing. It always felt fairly priced for a good burger and was a go-to place when wanting a fast, affordable, and tasty meal. Good beer selection, great malts. Service was always fantastic.
Now to the bad:
Hop + grind has raised prices by 66% in 5 years, and from what I've heard, 100% in the last 8 (Basic was $5). The basic burger has gone from 6 dollars to 10 dollars. Previous price increases from 6 to 6.50, then 7.00 and 7.50 seemed reasonable to keep up with inflation and rapidly rising labor and material costs, but it never felt like lousy value. Now, quality and burger size have seemingly declined. While prices are up substantially across the board. I was disappointed with the fries as well, which have consistently been some of the best fries I've known. I am wondering if there has been a management change.
It is sad to say goodbye to an establishment that has made many memories and has been a stable rock in the Durham Community, as well as a consistently good option when you can't think of anywhere else to go. I may try again in a couple of months and see if the situation has changed since the restaurant has had a good track record, but if I am disappointed again, I will find it hard to come back.

Amazing food, but even more importantly these folks kept my purse safe for nearly a week as I accidentally left it behind a day before traveling out town!
I'm not out towards Durham often but I will be back every time I am!

It wasn't bad, tasted good. It is just essentially an overpriced burger shop.

Excellent burgers, fries, shakes, and lemonade. The young woman at the front was so friendly and helpful and made it a great first experience! We will be back for sure.

I was a loyal customer to hop and grind for years until they recently increased their prices by close to 40%. That's just greed. I won't be coming here anymore on principle.
