My husband and I went to May Garden for the first time today after a friend had recommended it and after reading some good reviews on here. I am going to start with the positives. Our server was wonderful. She was friendly, energetic, and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and had an overall good vibe to it. We had very high hopes for the food and unfortunately this is where the positives end. We ordered chicken egg foo yong, pork fried rice, and beef with pea pods and mushrooms. The egg foo yong, and the gravy it came with had NO flavor whatsoever. We tried soy sauce, salt (I’ve never in my life had to salt Chinese food) and even hot mustard to bring it to life but it was beyond hope. The beef, pea pod and mushroom dish was horrible. Again, flavorless and the sauce gave the beef a slimy texture that I could not get past. I will say, we did like the mushrooms though. Last, the rice. Oh, the rice…Is rice supposed to be crunchy? Well, it was and again, lacked any kind of flavor and no amount of seasoning could make it palatable. I honestly hate leaving bad reviews, but I also hate wasting money on something we really looked forward to. I won’t tell you not to go here like a lot of people do, because we all have different taste buds. But, just be prepared for a sad experience if you do choose to go.

I have going to May Gardens for 40 years. In my opinion it’s the best Chinese food around. I’m hooked on May Gsrdens. ❤️❤️
Lo mein was so soggy, like chicken noodle soup in the can, it was inedible, as was the steamed dumplings, as meat in the middle wasn't even cooked through all the way. When I called about my order, they refused to help, and said ,"I probably just don't like their food. " I was hung up on. Needless to say, a waste of money, and won't be returning.

Hubby and I tried this place for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. Not busy. We dined in. Ordered a pupu platter, chicken egg foo yung, crab rangoons, and beef fried rice. I don't eat pork. Hubby said the egg rolls were very good and better than another restaurant's as well as the boneless spare ribs. They put chicken teriyaki in the pupu platter instead of beef. I prefer beef, but the chicken was good. The crab rangoons were very good. We liked the fried rice and egg foo yung as well. The brown sauce for the egg foo yung was ok. I prefer another restaurant's brown sauce, but I will definitely be back as all of the food was good, the service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean.
We are happy we came here, the food was great, the restaurant is clean and quiet and the waitress was great. Our food was very fast too. We will be coming back.

Food was great, no bartender so couldn’t have drinks while we waited for take out and at least a 100 degrees inside. Also cartoons on tv for a child who should not have been at the bar. Very disappointed in this visit we planned a week ago because we live up north and haven’t been here since we moved. ☹️
