Do not be fooled by the look of this place! It appears to be a cozy little bar room, but they offer an elevated cocktail and food menu that would comfortably fit into any Boston venue. Three cheers to owner/chef Rick Korn, and GM Greg Rodgers who provided a stellar dining experience.
My husband Charlie and I decided to take a long ride on (another) rainy Saturday, and found ourselves here just before 4 PM. No reservations so we weren't expecting to be seated right away. Looking around, there appeared to be several available tables, but the friendly host, GM Rodgers assured us they were all booked for 4pm, but he asked if we minded sitting at the large high top table for 8. No problem! We were seated immediately. First good sign. How many restaurants have you been to where they will willingly seat a couple at an 8-top and give up all that potential revenue? (Toward the end of our meal, they asked if we minded if they seated another couple at the other end of the table, and we gladly allowed it.)
Our charming server Chris came right over with water and to take drink orders. I ordered the Local Brew Espresso Martini. Delicious, made with their special espresso, and a hint of Maple Cream liqueur with 3 espresso beans floating on top of the frothy foam. One of the best espresso martinis I ever had. Charlie ordered a can of Little Wizard IPA, which arrived icy cold, as he likes it.
Next, Chris delivered a basket of hot freshly baked rolls with seasoned whipped butter. OMG. I am a bread person, and I will get all judgy if a restaurant doesn't measure up on that level. No problem here. These were fabulous!
OUR APPETIZER
Trio of Shrimp
• Shrimp Ceviche
• Shrimp Fritters
• Buffalo Shrimp with a large chunk of blue cheese
Beautiful presentation. So unique and tasty. Of the three items, we agreed our favorite was the ceviche.
ENTREES
I ordered SUMMER CHICKEN.
This entree made me soooo happy! The ingredients were so fresh and delicious! The chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the raviolis were light with such a unique flavor! It was a very generous portion, and I enjoyed my leftovers for lunch the next day.
Charlie ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Delivered hot and juicy with a basket of crispy fries. He happuly devoured it!
DESSERT
Although we were already full and satisfied, we had read reviews about Grandma Aseret’s Homemade Seasonal Bread Pudding dessert, so we forced ourselves to make room, and we were not disappointed.
This is a large, dense square of tender warm gingerbread-like pudding served up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. While walking by the table, Greg noticed that we had this amazing dessert and he asked how we liked it. He revealed that all the desserts are truly from his grandma's recipes, and this one is made by his mom for the restaurant. (As I said before, judgy bread person, which extends to desserts! Again, not a problem!) We did not leave a morsel behind on the plate!
I give this entire dining experience a five out of five. The service was stellar, the ambiance cozy, and the food was absolutely phenomenal.
Go to Rick's soon!
There is no words. Just amazing especially the staff, lively joyful excited and funny. You couldn't ask for a better experience at a little place. In essence little place, big personality!!
Great spot with friendly staff and great food/drink. Always changing menu with great weekly specials. Can't recommend enough.
Outstanding service and a great experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be returning soon.
Very cool restaurant! Awesome friendly staff. Everyone in my party ordered something different and was extremely satisfied.
I recently had an unforgettable dining experience at Rick’s Food & Spirits in Kingston, NH, and I’m already excited for my next visit! After wanting to try this local gem for months but never finding the time, I finally went with my wife, and I regret not coming sooner. The warm atmosphere and impressive menu immediately impressed us.
I ordered the crispy duck with rice pilaf, and it was absolutely incredible. The duck was perfectly cooked, with crisp skin and tender, flavorful meat that even surpassed the amazing “Pato Laqueado” I had in Mexico years ago. My wife chose the mahi mahi with parmesan risotto, which was equally outstanding. (I snuck a bite, and it was divine!) To top it all off, we shared a baklava for dessert, and it was a revelation—flaky, sweet, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of nutty richness. Every bite was pure bliss.
Rick’s is a true standout in Kingston, offering exceptional food and a welcoming vibe. Best of all, it’s just a 10-minute drive from my home, making it dangerously convenient. I’m already looking forward to becoming a regular. If you’re in the area, don’t wait as long as I did—head to Rick’s for a meal (and dessert!) you won’t forget!
Just had best scallops and cornbread evahha
This spot nails the balance between upscale food and a chill, bar-like vibe. The dishes are creative, delicious, and come in smaller portions—which actually works out, because it leaves room for dessert (their take on bread pudding is seriously amazing). The whole place has a fun, easygoing energy that makes you want to hang out longer. They even host a “movie night” with food and a film—it’s super popular and always sells out, so I’m definitely hoping to catch one soon. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to.
My husband took me here last night for our Aniversary. He knows I love duck. We were greeted at the door and sat us right away. Our waiter Andrew kept us content with making sure everything was fine with the appetizers drinks entrees and the dessert. The food was amazing. The duck was excellent and my husband's short ribs were delicious. I would definitely go back again. We went early and still made reservations which I suggest you make as I heard this place gets packed on the weekends.
Autumn Chicken is amazing and the staff was great!
Restaurantji Recommends
I have to admit, when a friend suggested going, having read about them on a healthy no seed oil website, I was dubious. Now I’m almost afraid to recommend because I want to keep it to ourselves! Not only was the food high quality, fresh, made with culinary pride and skill, and insanely delicious, the service, attentiveness and personal care they provide was like being in a Michelin Star restaurant. Tucked quietly away in a 280 year old building - the warmth, energy, and history can just be felt in its welcome - this the place to go for a super special dinner or. Tails, or just to spend good time with friends.
I can always count on Rick's for a great dining experience! The menu pleases even the pickiest eater as well the most gourmet tastes!

Great place for fun cocktails and delicious appetizers. Must haves are the frosted flakes chicken tenders, parmesan risotto, and the Thai chicken sliders. I have a lot more to try and will be back. Service is always wonderful. I love that they get creative with their offerings to match the seasons.
