Person at order station did not order food correctly so we did not get fries. Lobster in lobster roll was cold and like rubber. Calm chowder had zero flavor it came out of a huge white tub. Dining area was a dirty cabin with a swarm of flies coming out of the trash. Not worth 100 dollars. Would definitely not recommend…save your money

Did not have any vegan or vegetarian options beyond fried sides. They also did not have some of the fried options their menu listed.
Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options beyond fries.

This is a definite destination for fresh seafood that's made to order. The breading is light and crispy. The servings are generous. Handicapped access to outdoor and indoor seating. It may be small but you get a lot for your money!

Not many customers. Ordered very quickly. The server was nice.
Chocolate milk was not Chocolate tasting at all & was an off white color. Hotdog had a good taste but was barely warm. Fries were cold. This isn't the Tamarack it used to be. Won't be back.

Solid lobster roll and great service! The atmosphere matches the rest of Weirs Beach (IYKYK -- but not fair to penalize them too much for blending into their surroundings). The "we are not safe for nut allergies" sign is a little precious, but whoever made my sandwich managed to resist the urge to roll it around in the ice cream toppings, so maybe the customer-unfriendly posturing is just more of that local flavor?
Dietary restrictions: They have a semi-prominent sign listing the allergens that they are "not safe" for: dairy, nuts, shellfish. I have a nut allergy, rolled the dice with a lobster roll, and won. YMMV -- for ice cream, last I checked, Kellerhaus (a few hundred yards up the road) are more in tune with reality.

Brought my teenage son for the first time yesterday. The counter staff was very friendly. Ordered the "Big BLT" basket and the foot long hot dog basket. There was nothing big about the BLT. Thin slices of bread and 3 pieces of bacon. Upgraded to onion rings and it was the tiniest portion. The hot dog also came with a tiny portion of fries. It was a rainy day so we sat in the indoor seating. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. The Tamarack isn't what it used to be. I doubt we would return.

Mediocre fried seafood. Not bad, but nothing special. Lobster roll was mostly lettuce. Fried clams were simply fine. Onion rings needed season in the batter. Fries were basic and bland.
Lots of trash on the grounds, tables are damaged and rotting. Indoor seating smelled musty and bathrooms were questionable.
Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about food. Very attentive to allergy questions.

I wish there were options for half star ratings because 3 seems a bit generous. I'm a nostalgic person and wanted to take my daughter here for dinner because I vacationed in the Lakes Region when I was a kid and we at at Tamarack Restaurant often. However, I feel it's glory days are behind it.
We both wanted seafood and got two fried seafood dinners. My daughter got fried clams and I got the scallops and clams combo. We both substituted onion rings for fries ($1.75 upcharge).
The portions are decent. I got 4 scallops and a good protein of clams. It almost seemed like I got the same amount of clams on the combo as the full fried clams plate
The clams were cooked well but it seemed like they were cooked because Tamarack had the product on hand and didn't want to take a loss on them. The clams on both plates were dirty and grimy. Yes, full belly clams will be sandy but these were a bit excessive and had noticable darks clumps of dirt on them. My daughter only ate half of hers.
The overall cleanliness of the place is lacking
Lot of trash in the picnic areas and tables were not very clean.
It was $60 for the two fried dinners with onion rings substitutes and two drinks.
Would I return again? Unlikely.

Most lobster packed lobster roll pretty much anywhere. But always wonder why it takes 20-30 minutes to put cold lobster in a roll.

Ordered the Jumbo 7oz lobster rolls with onion rings, fried chicken and grilled cheese. The lobster meat was probably really 7oz, could get with Mayo or butter on the side. it was a ton of cold lobster meat. Onion rings were a huge let down. Went right at 5PM hoping to get hot and fresh items but the rings were not either hot or fresh. Window service only (the image of an indoor seating option is NOT actually available) but the service folks we spoke to were extremely kind and responsive. Good experience overall!
