Scorpio's Pizzaria & Sports Pub

We stopped here while we were staying at Maidstone and it was pouring rain. They make an incredible margarita pizza! Bathroom was clean and it was crowded for mid-day.

Went to eat before watching the Harp Twins play at the nearby theatre.
It was slammed as it was the only restaurant open on a Tuesday near the theatre (that I am aware of).

When we were seated the bartender could be heard loudly complaining about how busy it is due to the Twins playing that night.
I'd like to point out that while he complained, he was sat on his butt while the only waitress that I could see was working her tail off.

The waitress zoomed here and there, she maintained her good manners despite how insanely busy she was.
The man at the host post for the night (who I believe might have been the manager, though I could be mistaken) merely stood around the majority of the time.

When our food arrived the temperature of the food gave away the fact that it had been sitting for a while (likely because they didn't have the staff and I absolutely do not blame that busy bee waitress for this, she did her best!)

I saw the waitress place cocktails and such on people's tables, I wonder if the bar tender could have done that (given that I see bar tenders in other establishments do that!)
I saw the host/manager bus one table and maybe do two other things but that was about it.
Needless to say we gave the waitress a good tip.

I'm sure the food would have been 5 stars had it been warm enough.

If this is the way Scorpio's treats it's staff, by keeping the work load vastly uneven, then no wonder it's short staffed.

Host/manager = one star
Bartender that complains in front of customers = one star
Waitress = five stars

Average pizza place. Food was decent. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere 'meh' due to some looks from the locals. Cash only but there's an ATM onsite.

First time there last week. Found my new favorite pizza, spicy Hawaiian. Service was good, and fast, great atmosphere sitting on the deck right on Main St. Cash only is always a sign of a good pizza joint. Pretty far from my house, but if I'm in the area, I will be back.

Apparently they have bigotry on special because they won’t serve black people here. Short of reluctantly being seated, my friends were completely ignored and ended up leaving because they were being completely ignored by the server who was tending to any newer guests. Epic fail, Scorpio’s. Do better.
