“I’ve recommended them since 2004; their Parmesan Bagels were always SO delicious! I didn’t mind the (almost) 4 hour one way trip because they were THAT good and they freeze well. I hadn’t been there since prior to the pandemic but made a bagel run yesterday and didn’t check the bags upon pick up as I’ve never had a quality control issue. I called this morning to say they look/smell totally different and to ask if the recipe has changed. The guy I spoke with (I think the baker) said yes, recipe changed because they took garlic out. I mentioned they also took off the green bits on top. His response was that they have parsley on the Asiago bagels which are a newer flavor — but that Parm never had any green bits, ever. Of course I know that’s simply not true. He literally argued with me about it. LOL! It’s one thing to change the recipe, but don’t argue with a customer of over 15 years when I have pictures to prove my point. The Parmesan bagel — for years — looked like the one on the left… and what I got yesterday is on the right. They don’t look or smell as appetizing but they were fresh - at least one thing that hasn’t changed. 🤷♀️
Out of 5 stars, I’ll give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for ALL the years they were great, minus one for the customer service today. Don’t tell a customer of 15+ years they don’t know what they’re talking about.“
