So I used to work at this deli before the new owner came in, after he bought it I only stayed about three months. As a vegetarian my favorite dish was the eggplant parm, and I’ve been craving it lately, as there’s not much in the way of vegetarian options around town. We used to sell this good size “two serving” tray for take out for $13.99, I went in today and it was $24.99!!! Which is insane, an extra $10! Now I love the cook, and it still tastes great, but it’s not the same. The new owner said he’d keep the old recipes but this is lacking sauce and cheese, not worth $25 at all, I can’t believe it. I mean I can’t say I’m surprised, and he’ll probably take down this review but I won’t be back.

Edit to respond to owners comment: I have prepped, cooked and assembled hundreds of these meals, it’s in the same container, the same portion, just lacking sauce and cheese. There is no difference between what I bought for $25 and what I used to make and serve for $14.

This place is great. I’d recommend it to anyone. I haven’t had anything that’s tasted bad from the menu, always good food and consistent quality. The buffalo panini is my favorite. I’m greeted by the owner before I even get both feet in the door. I walk in to order lunch and walk out smiling every time. The owner Jay is awesome and the food is great

The owner is very nice and every sandwich I've had has been great. Also a good spot to grab a bottle of wine or treat if you're headed to a dinner party.

Came in this cute establishment to support a local deli. Heard great things about it.
We ordered 5 sandwiches, a coffee and a pastry.
My mother in law ordered an iced coffee and the taps were out. The lady in the dress who is wildly underdressed with her cleavage hanging out, totally unprofessional for a coffee and deli shop, was explaining how one of them usually works…
Anyway, after they finally went under the counter and refilled it, we got the iced coffee.
My husband and his friend wanted to wait inside for the food while the rest of us waited outside.
So about 20 minutes later, I said something about how I wonder if our food is ready. I went in and learned they never even rang the food up, there was a couple who was behind us, who actually got their food before they even started on ours and they walked out after.
So my husband went up to the counter and the lady in the dress was like oh did you guys need to be rung up? Then I stepped in and said yes ma’am, we have been waiting for 25 minutes.
So she then asked the teens that seemed to not know what was happening, if they had made the sandwiches. They then didn’t know where they were, and found half of them on the shelf, and then the pasta salad my husband ordered, the teen said she didn’t know where it was, but then found it.
You can’t make this up…
So then we realized they missed 2 of our sandwiches all together, and then they had to make them.
I brought my grilled cheese out along with the other 2 sandwiches, and I opened mine up, to see where it was soggy and not grilled like at all.
So then I went in again, and asked if they could just grill the other half of my grilled cheese.
The lady remade it and brought it outside to me. It was much better.
Train your employees.
They had no idea what was going on with putting a few sandwiches together.
This is not a good look for the future.

Friendly clean cheerful place! Frozen Take home meals are absolutely delicious- I’ve tried the shepherds pie, chicken piccata, and chicken Parmesan. All delicious and the 1/2 tray is enough to feed 6-8 people. Great for a small party!

My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a submarine sandwich. The staff had music blaring, which was kind of annoying. Over this noise we asked for an Italian Combination sub with turkey breast instead of the ham/soppressata but learned that your shop only made "specialty" sandwiches - if we wanted something different, we would be charged for "double meat", meaning we would be spending around $15 plus tax for a takeout sandwich. (We could have gone down the street to the restaurant and received table service for that price.) Please know that I grew up in a family delicatessen business as a young man and know this business "inside and out" - including the long hours, training employees, product quality and presentation, overhead costs, working with customers - you name it. We were about making customers feel welcome (and please, while on the subject of making customers feel welcome, you might think about letting people know that public restrooms are available up the road at Newbury Harbor if you insist on posting 'no public restroom' signs in your establishment) not telling a customer what we couldn't do for them, and if we did, there would be an "extra charge." We ended up politely thanking the clerk and left. Best of luck to you, and we do wish you much success, but you may want to examine some aspects of your business model/practices here.

Just ordered an Italian panini and a Chivito (no tomatoes, and added mushrooms). Both sandwiches were fantastic! Definitely will be going back to try more things from this place!

What a gem! Definitely stop for a sandwich here. Absolutely delicious subs! And plenty of great extras for your meal: local beers, frozen homemade meals (we grabbed a couple for the rest of our week), deli salads, baked treats, ice cream, toffee, local goods, etc! Staff was lovely. The perfect pit stop to stock up on your visit!
