Probably my favorite restaurant of all time. Food is soo delicious and authentic, great prices, staff is very pleasant and overall atmosphere is very cozy. I would highly recommend a visit to La Catrina if you’re in Newmarket or surrounding areas.

I have been here several times for lunch. The place is quiet and cozy, best for a small group. They make their food fresh and to order -- delicious and not as salty as one often gets with Mexican food. Welcoming family-owned atmosphere and reasonable prices. Definitely my go-to place when I can get to Newmarket.

Loved this place but have noticed recently they occasionally just post a paper in pen on the door that they are closed for the day ( ongoing for weeks now ) with 0 other details. I had to even submit that this is temporarily closed so people don't waste their time traveling during posted hours of operation.
Otherwise this is some of the best Mexican in the area so its sad that their communication on being open is so bad
