This spot was much better than expected! Their menu is huge and I love that they offer a la carte if you're not super hungry or wanting to spend a lot. Our server was very friendly and attentive, checking in on us every 10-15 mins. We ordered fajitas well done, but they came out regular. However, the meat was still juicy with plenty of flavor. The margaritas are huge (and strong! When I'm in the area again, I'll be back!

Our second visit and our second great meal. We eat Mexican a lot and this is one of the best. We went out of our way to come back when we were visiting Durham. Highly recommend their verde sauce on anything and everything. Great service and great margaritas.

Food was absolutely delicious! Got the beef nachos and the quesadilla suprema with grilled shrimp! Excellent! The only reason for the 4 star was our experience with our waiter. Although nice - he made the atmosphere a bit awkward. He said very little and was scarce for most of our meal. Will definitely be going back!

We've eaten here a few times and Los Cantaros has transformed into one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. The service, atmosphere, and food is all fantastic. The outdoor seating is the perfect setting for a few of their jumbo margaritas but the beautifully decorated interior is the next best thing.One of our new traditions when we are busy throughout the week is to treat ourselves to Sopes on Sundays. They are by far my favorite mexican dish and the crumbly masa tortillas bring me a lot of joy. The toppings aren't bad either, lol. If you are ever in the area, stop in and grab yourself a cheap meal and be treated with some of the best service on the Seacoast.

Tried this place tonight and the food was pretty good. Definitely overpriced, but still tasty. The issue was the service. When we got there, our server was rude when my partner asked if it was happy hour, responding, "I don't know, what time is it?" After we ordered, the food arrived quickly and was not delivered by our server, which isn't uncommon at Mexican establishments. The server stopped by immediately afterwards and basically grunted at us, "Everything okay?" We responded we were good and that was the last time we saw him until we had find him for our bill. He never checked in to see if we needed anything else and he was generally unpleasant during what little interaction we had with him. Sat there for almost 30 minutes after we were done our meals waiting for him so we could leave. When we finally got to ask him for the bill, he didn't even acknowledge that we had been waiting a really long time. I do not recommend this place and we will not be back.

The bartender at this restaurant is horrible. There were only 10 people seated in the bar area and he couldn't even keep up. You try to get his attention and you're ignored. We went for dinner and drinks, we both ordered drinks and chicken wings. $16.99 for 12 wingets, all so small it was ridiculous. Tried ordering more drinks but was ignored. Decided that ordering food was not looking good. Tried to pay our bill with a credit card and he walked away. Bill came to $50.99 and we left $51.00 cash. Won't be going back anytime soon. Very disappointing experience tonight. Used to really like this place, but not so much anymore.
