“We eat at Betty's Kitchen at least once each time we come to Rye. We love this place for the comfort food breakfast. The menu has plenty of choices for egg omelettes, pancakes, French Toast, meats, and sides without the menu being too long. Absolutely have to try it.Parking: Parking is plentiful.”

“We frequent the Hampton area for sports and this is our go-to on the road dinner option. From pizza to wraps we are continuously impressed by quality and service. Recently tried the Gelato- Wow! Kids raved about it.”

“Noisy atmosphere, open concept, food was average for price, small selection on menu but my main complaint was the bartender did not know how to pour stout. Our glasses were 1/3 foam and at 7.50 a pint one would expect a drawn properly”

“This is a cute little soup and salad place - very bright and clean. Soups are excellent - we actually ended up buying two buckets to go and enjoyed them for the next couple of days (Thai noodle and Pumpkin bisque). Salads were fresh and I think pre-made. The restaurant seems to mostly cater to take-out customers. Salads are given to you in take out boxes and you serve yourself the soup. I liked that they list all of the ingredients in the soups. Like another customer, i was nonplussed by the automatic tip at the checkout (you can opt out, but need to look for it). The food is priced appropriately and there is no real service, so I don't quite understand the need for a tip. Otherwise, friendly staff and a good place to grab a quick, healthy bite.”

“I've been to others what I call seafood shacks. And Al's ranks high. I'm also not a seafood person, but I like my clam stripes. The clam strip boat is the perfect amount for a meal.So Al's is worthy of 10 stars.”

“Locals is a classic example of a sports bar. They have improved over the years but still stick to their roots. On this particular visit, we noticed how they hustled to keep everyone happy on Saint Patrick's Day. They are great at what they do.This restaurant has a massive bar, multiple TVs to watch sports, and games such as dart boards. Perfect place to catch up with friends. The drinks are STRONG! Each time I visit I can only handle one. As for the food, it is decent. If you stick to the apps and comfort food you will be satisfied. If you're looking for a drink and to watch a game, I recommend Locals.”

“This spot was much better than expected! Their menu is huge and I love that they offer a la carte if you're not super hungry or wanting to spend a lot. Our server was very friendly and attentive, checking in on us every 10-15 mins. We ordered fajitas well done, but they came out regular. However, the meat was still juicy with plenty of flavor. The margaritas are huge (and strong! When I'm in the area again, I'll be back!”

“Wonderful!! I'm moving out of state soon and sad I can't frequent this place more after only just discovering it today. Friendly service, delicious fried chicken with super yummy sides. I'm afraid they ruined coleslaw for me as I've never had better, and probably never will. Cute decor, great location, fair prices, I loved it all. Keep up the great work!”

“Been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. You can’t go wrong with a lobster roll and an ice cream. Order a kiddie unless you want an entire pint to yourself haha. And watch out for the bees and thieving seagulls who will definitely take your food! @TourGuideTara for more travel tips!”

“The juice box is located inside a local clothing store with its own seating area. There are plenty of seats and it seemed a lot of people working on their computers. I can't speak to their food/juices as I only ordered coffee and a chai tea. They have alternative milk options (almond and oat). The drinks were good but nothing that stood out as extra special.Staff was extremely nice and service was VERY fast. They have locked bathrooms on the premises for customers only.”

“Best Dunkin’s in the entire Seacoast area, possibly the whole of New England. They don’t always carry everything, but their customer service is THE BEST.Just to tell you how great they are- the other day I went to the Dunkin’s in Hampton and asked for three kinds of munchkins, 12 in total. They gave me nine though I’d paid for 12. When I told them, they reluctantly added three more, all plain. At the north Hampton location, they were out of some and forgot to tell me. When I told them we didn’t eat pumpkin, they gave me a whole new box and told me to keep the old one. No questions asked, smiles on their faces. This kind of service is why I ALWAYS drive the extra few miles to get to this Dunkin’s instead of any of the others.”

“I was hesitant to dine at this restaurant after reading the reviews, but the restaurant is under new ownership and I have to say the food and service were exceptional. They even accommodated by garlic allergy (hard to do in an Italian restaurant!). Staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.”

“I found this place because I was searching for a chefs tasting table. They ended up being booked out for a year so I figured just regular reservations would suffice.I booked the bar and was so glad I did. We got there and there was an anniversary card hand-signed with little congratulatory messages from the entire staff. So sweet. We did a bunch of small plates. I don’t know if I remember everything but it was all fantastic. They also brought out other dishes compliments of the chef. The chef came out twice and just chatted with us. My husband asked him about sunchoke because he’d never heard of it, and he literally went back to the kitchen and came back to show us what it was. The sous chef came out too. The owner and the bartender tag-teamed serving us and everyone was just so friendly, informative, and just so pleasant to be around. Everything was plated like a work of art. We literally stared at each plate in awe because of how pretty it all looked. Every dish was fully explained when they presented it.We started with charcuterie and it was amazing. Three meats I haven’t had before, all house made. House made pickles, jam, and crackers. A mustard that was out of this world. For our small plates we had:- crispy octopus with a squid ink tuile and some sort of amazing potato fondue. It was the best octopus I’ve ever had. We ordered it twice.- steak tartare with quail egg and potato croquettes. So tender and such an amazing mix of flavors.- duck fat beignets. We got these twice. The first was a sugar coated beignet with Serrano (I believe) ham, goat cheese and a jam. The second was foie gras with goat cheese and grapes. The sweet and savory and salty all together was a complete shock to my system. I’d eat them daily if I could.- hay smoked carrots with cecina, black garlic and port poached pears. This was compliments of the chef and was just such an amazing surprise.- salmon crudo with grapefruit, bergamot and freshly grated horseradish. Such an interesting mix of flavors. The salmon was served raw so the grapefruit was a great tenderizer. It was so buttery and fresh.- fois gras served with sunchoke cake. Yes, cake. The cake was sweet and moist and felt dense but was really light. Absolutely amazing. I don’t know if that even makes sense but that’s how I can describe it. Best fois gras I’ve ever had.- ricotta tortellini- also compliments of the chef. The dough was so tender. The ricotta was so smooth and creamy. It was served with garlic scapes and almonds and mushrooms that were perfectly cooked.- we ended up getting a cheese plate at the end as well. All three cheeses were so different and perfect. Also served with the crackers, jam, and a different mustard. For dessert we ordered a layered chocolate stout cake with a black sesame tahini ice cream. It reminded me of the most elevated chocolate peanut butter dessert you can imagine. They also sent us three other ice creams: roasted almond, fois gras, and mushroom. Everything was so creamy, perfectly sweet, and flavorful. Just absolutely stunning.I’m drooling just reliving it in my mind. I cannot wait to go back. The owner informed us about the outdoor seating along the river during the summer and how on Wednesdays (I think) they do fresh oysters that are caught that morning and the person who catches them delivers and shucks them as ordered. This was the most wonderful anniversary dinner and truly one of the top 5 dining experiences I’ve ever had, no questions asked. Such a wonderfully unexpected food gem in Exeter! Our sincerest thanks to every single staff member that made our night something we will talk about for a very long time.”
“What a gem! Although we are "regulars" of the Kittery food and drink scene we hadn't made it here until a wintery Friday night. Cozy vibe, extremely friendly, attentive, creative staff. The Bourbon lovers in our crowd praised "A fist in the mouth of time" and "Something for Timmy". The gin drinkers loved "Text me Ishmael" and the tequila lovers loved "Jupiter Jazz". We managed to sample a cocktail created by each of the mixologists working... we coverd a lot of the menu territory but there is still much more to explore. We're definitely coming back. Thanks to the team of talented folks behind the bar.”

“Not terrible. I had the surf and turf with filet and lobster tail. It was not terrible lobster, but it was a little tough which was surprising given the location and the about $80 that the plate costed. The steak was a little better but could have used more flavor. Over-all not bad, but the plate should have been more at a $45 price point relative to its quality. I would say keep the higher price and improve the plate.”

“This is the kind of place you go for anniversary celebrations, birthdays, or other special occasions. The menu changes daily, and every dish served is delicious and prepared excellently.Make a reservation weeks in advance; it's a small restaurant with tables for 2 and 4.But it's definitely a top place to dine in Exeter and the seacoast area.”

“I cannot say enough about how happy I was that Popovers was closed on Tuesday. My wife and I were originally intending on going there, and needed to find an alternative. We stumbled upon Elephantine. Wow! We walked into this charming little cafe and were transported to Paris. The products looked delicious, and we soon found out that they didn’t only look delicious. The young lady, who was serving us, was exceptionally friendly and added to our pleasure. We ordered a yogurt, with, as I can recall, a pistachio, brittle granola, sliced fruit, honey and so on. We also wanted to just try some of their bread in toast form so I asked if we could order something that wasn’t on the menu. We just ordered some sourdough bread and wanted to have it with butter and jelly. The server promptly made it happen. The food was delivered and all of it was prepared at a very high level. Everything was not only prepared well in terms of ingredients and quality of the food, but it was also cooked/displayed nicely. The medley of food, atmosphere, and music made for the nicest breakfast I have had in a long time. We would recommend this shining star to anyone! The Elephantine is top notch!”

“I have been here several times. And the ambiance is always great. The staff is great. I have had the duck, land, and steak, they were all delicious. The French onion soup is really good. Everything I have ordered here has not disappointed in taste. You can spend $100 on one person with food and drinks. But you should come here for the food and experience not the price if that matters to you.”

“Arrived right on time for a 6 o'clock reservation on a Saturday evening. We were seated promptly and had our cocktail order taken immediately. I had some version of a Manhattan that was very well-made and my wife had the Amethyst Amor'e, also very well done. We started with a cheeseboard, which was very generous, lots of cheese, bread, honey, and candied walnuts. We also tried their deviled egg, very tasty... My wife had the beets and the mussels, which she enjoyed thoroughly. I had their version of the chicken pie, which had some unusual flavors. I'm not quite sure what it was, but it was very good as well. our server, I wish I could remember her name, was very attentive, timing of her visits to our table or perfect. The pacing of when food was delivered, was just as one would hope. Altogether our bill was about $180 not including tip. All in all a really nice experience, given the somewhat limited menu options I'm not sure how soon we'll be back, but I would certainly recommend this restaurant.”

“This place was jumping!! Line wrapped fully around the counter and out the door! And their food explains why! From their pastries to their pizza everything was so tasty! I ate all my food before thinking of taking a picture because it was that tasty! oh ya, and don’t forget to try one of their house made crullers!”

“Decided to try something new with my work crew, and got recommendations that Durbar was great. As soon as I walked in, everyone was super friendly and personable, and the atmosphere was calming and comfortable. The smells and decorations really put me in a good mood and ready to try the food. We ordered a little bit of everything, so we could try as much as possible, and that was without a doubt a great idea because everything (yes everything) was fantastic. Tried all the sides and desserts, and a good variety of the entrees, and my goodness...what a excellent experience, it was legitimately all so delicious, nobody tried anything they didn't like. 100% will be coming back and continuing to spread the word at work because this made our week.Kid-friendliness: While I was there, everyone was very kind and courteous. A younger child came in to pick up some food with her dad and was treated very nicely and respectfully, and engaged with at her level. She seemed super excited to get her rice pudding, and I know why now, it's amazing.”
