“My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary dinner. I'm a line cook, and have worked as a chef. I have nothing but glowing reviews, and this is the kind of restaurant I aspire to open one day. This is a small, intimate restaurant with an extremely thoughtful and dedicated staff. They have parking available, which is an unusual luxury for Portsmouth. The food is inventive and excellent- modern French cuisine is very apt. Portion sizes are thoughtful to enable you to finish each dish while still craving the next. The gin cocktails are delicious, beautiful, and pair wonderfully with the menu. The FOH was also incredibly considerate towards my boyfriend, who is vegan. Overall, excellent ambience, drinks, food, and service. Botanica is a special experience. Thank you for making our night so wonderful. This reminds me why we do such hard work every night.Parking: Has a lot, an unusual luxury for dining in portsmouth“
“Anneke Jans Kittery is truly a gem . Its elegant cozy atmosphere is so inviting and each time we go there it is the best dining experience. The open hearth kitchen visible from the dining room is beautiful !The service is always impeccable and every staff member is so friendly . They have a more formal dining room , or you can also dine in the bar area which is equally as cozy. The food is amazing every time we go and they have great cocktails . The owners are wonderful also and you feel so welcomed all the time .We both got a fish dish which was so well seasoned and delicious . They also have amazing vegetarian option which we have tried many times .It’s our favorite place for Birthdays , Anniversary or any other reason . In the summer they have a wonderful patio to dine in overlooking he whole Foreside .We can’t wait to go back !Vegetarian options: So delicious and innovative !“
“Bridge Street is one of the best kept secrets in Portsmouth. Is it even a secret, really? Set just off to the side of the main strip, Bridge Street is tucked in among the houses of Portsmouth residents. It is some of the best French food I’ve had outside of France, too. Their wine list is great, their chef is spectacular, and their service is mostly good but can sometimes be so-so (we’ve dined her probably five times and only had one not the best experience, so more good than so-so). Their Filet au Poivre and Coq au Van are two delightful recommendations and be sure you don’t skip dessert!“
