The oyakadon (chicken and egg over rice) was unrecognizable as the standard dish I have had many times in other Japanese restaurants. It had an odd sauce and was not very tasty. The sake/salmon roll had very little fish and the sushi rice was too dry. The edamame was okay. The drinks, service and atmosphere were very good so the expensive and disappointing food was a big letdown. If you want good Japanese food, look elsewhere. Too bad, because I was hopeful.
My daughter and I came here for her birthday and it was an absolutely fabulous culmination to our vacation. Atmosphere is calm and cool, service was top notch, and the food....stop it. We shared the bluefin tuna ramen, onigiri trio, crab soba noodles (out of this world), and the sea bream nigiri (first time having, new fave). Beautiful presentation.
While this place is tasty, it is not what comes to mind when thinking of sushi. Elevated dishes are full of flavor; however, I feel the fish gets left behind. Many of the sushi dishes feel as though they’re “trying too hard” to create an upscale dining feel as opposed to showcasing their fish.
