It was the last day of service for Fall 2023 which must be why the food was inferior this time. My husband shared the clam chowder which was served lukewarm, too thick with lots of potato and it tasted like corn. The lobster from the lobster roll was bland but a good size portion. The fried haddock on the sandwich would have been perfectly cooked but it tasted like ammonia. The french fries were good. We have always enjoyed eating here but a disappointing trip to the seacoast this time. They didn’t charge us for the haddock and we thank you for that.

Food is just ok BUT the service, drinks and view are phenomenal! This is a must stop when in Portsmouth. Don't forget the Jimmy Juice!

FOOD AFICIONADOS STEER CLEAR! We visit Portsmouth, infrequently and we'd never been to OFL before so we thought what the heck. The server was personable, we ordered a couple of the OFL house cocktails; they were good, but one was missing a key ingredient which they rectified when asked. For dinner I decided on the "New Englander" which is a lobster roll with french fries and cup of clam chowder, $35. I was skeptical but I was warned in writing on the menu that the lobster roll contains only 3 (three) ounces of lobster; I asked the server if I would be impressed with it, and I was assured that I would be. My partner ordered the grilled swordfish sandwich and opted for a salad for an upcharge. After a few minutes my cup of chowder arrived; it was thicker than wallpaper paste, so thick such that my spoon stood straight up like it was being stuck into a pile of dirt, uh oh! It was bland and tasteless. I ate a couple of spoonfuls and set it aside. The server asked if I liked the chowder and I said it was a one or two on a scale of 10. That was the last time the server would inquire how our food was; I know why. My lobster roll was ordered with hot butter, it came on a dry toasted cheepo hotdog roll accompanied with a plastic container of melted butter; I would think the lobster meat would have been sautéed in hot butter before being put into the roll, instead the lobster was refrigerator cold. I was unfortunately NOT impressed. The french fries were crummy second and third quality small pieces like you'd find at the bottom of the fryolator basket at the end of the night. My partner's grilled swordfish sandwich $25 was equally unimpressive; a small thin piece of incredibly dry and tasteless fish. The salad was good, but nothing more than you could make at home. Almost $100 for two people feeling like we were taken advantage of. If you're into low-quality lackluster food this could be the place for you. Disgusted.

After leaving Boston this morning and only having coffee and a bagel we arrived in Manchester. We did our share of walking around for awhile and the ladies decided it was time for some lunch. After looking around a bit to see what some of the locals recommended we headed to Old Ferry Landing, I had to take a phone call from work while on Vacation ( I know right) so my wife did the ordering it was a cup of a Clam Chowder, Lobster Sandwich w/fries and a Salad and a cold Arnold Palmer to drink, The sandwich and Chowder with excellent and could have eaten another sandwich but was saving my appetite for dinner, the service wasn't bad and our seating was good out on the patio. So stop by and give it a try and hope you have a good experience as we did.

Their fried foods are good, portions are large, service is pretty good. The food is also fresh.I recommend the fried Haddock, but stay away from the broiled one.

My dish was fried scallops and whole belly clams with french fries and coleslaw. The scallops were perfect but the clams were not as tasty and somewhat overcooked. The fries were excellent while the slaw was "average" for this side. They carry Lunch beer by Portland brewing which has always been excellent. Service was perfectly quick and the atmosphere with the tugboats and riverview is one of the reasons we've returned here over the last 40 years.Parking: Parking garage is a short walk away.

Quaint seafood place on the harbor. Seafood was classic New England style. A bit expensive, but everything is nowadays. Service was super quick and the atmosphere was great for our friends visiting from out of state.

We were so impressed with the food. The lobster bisque was great, though it was very creamy and the lobster chunks were really big, I would have preferred them a bit smaller so I got a little in every bite. I got the tuna sandwich and asked for the chipotle aioli which was so good with it. We also got the fried scallops which were cooked perfectly. Both were a very decent sized portion for the price, and the atmosphere by the water was lovely.

Food quality was somehow better pre-pandemic. Service is prompt, but they oddly don’t offer any of the daily specials prior to 5:30PM. An $18 shrimp cocktail made of 10 small shrimp would be better if it was even just 4 of the super-jumbo variety. The $38 broiled scallops (rubbery and overcooked) were in a tasteless “wine sauce” with barely enough potatoes to act as a proper side dish. Side salad was fresh, but the craisins need to go, as they are completely random in the mix. $90 for an app, main and two drinks can be spent better elsewhere. View of the tugboats and the people watching still nice though.

We brought two busloads of senior citizens from our local Active Living Center in Henniker, New Hampshire. The plan was to finish the Portsmouth Harbor Cruise, then walk over to Old Ferry Landing for lunch. The plan worked out very well. The Old Ferry Landing staff was ready to receive us. Service was friendly, quick, and accurate. Food quality, serving sizes, and value were excellent. Our group as a whole was quite happy with the experience. Kudos for a job well done in this day and age when quality and service seem to take a back seat.

Great place to grab a drink and look over the water. We had a fried shrimp app, which was tasty and not dripping in oil. Staff is always very friendly and doesn't make you feel like you are a bother by being there, unlike some other places we've gone.
