I strongly do not recommend ordering hot pot at this place. For the price, it’s a complete waste of money.
We expected a decent experience, but it turned out to be very disappointing. The portions of meat are extremely small — if you actually want to feel full, be prepared to order extra 3–4 times, which quickly makes the meal overpriced.
The quality of the ingredients was underwhelming as well: the meat was thin and lacked flavor, and the vegetables were very basic, without the freshness or variety you would expect for this price. The most disappointing part was the broth — it wasn’t really broth at all, just clear water with almost no flavor, as if nothing had been added to it.
The whole concept of hot pot is supposed to be an enjoyable and interactive experience, but here it was poorly executed. In the end, you’re paying more for the idea than for actual food and satisfaction.
Service didn’t make things any better — it was average at best, with no real effort to create a pleasant dining experience.
Overall, this is the worst hot pot we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a good meal without overpaying, it’s better to choose another place.

Still the best Chinese food around if you're looking for something more fresh and light than typical American Chinese food

Went there because our son invited us out. Was not thrilled when I found out hot pot meant paying to cook my own food, but decided to give it a try. Ordered the hot pot and a couple of egg rolls, in case I didn't like the hot pot. Best egg rolls I can remember eating! So good I would be happy to try some of their other prepared food, and the hot pot... awesome! Such fresh ingredients and so filling. I also enjoyed the plum wine.

The spicy hot pot was fantastic, and probably the best deal going in downtown Portsmouth. The broth was very sichuan forward and came with various condiments to tweak it with. They found a seat for me as a solo diner and I had a whole hot pot to myself.

Great food. Great service. Great scenic view for outdoor dining. Affordable and tasty. The indoors smells like cleaning fluid and needs an upgrade, but this will likely raise prices. Take out is also a good option.
Ordered through ghub hub, and the general so chicken was just like panda express, or something you heat up from the store, egg rolls were alright, and my wife's noodles were plain. Also when did duck sauce become apple sauce?
Best crab rangoons and beef teriyaki in the immediate area. Hot pot is a fun thing to try if you’re eating in; the staff will go out of their way to help you figure it out if you’re new to the concept. They have a fun drink menu and my only sadness is that their sushi menu disappeared. I’ve been eating here for years and my friends are always stoked when I show up with a bag of Pink Bamboo.
