Very yummy!!!
Carefully hand made and vastly creative ice cream and pastries. That's what sets Red Rover far above all others. Their flavors use fresh ingredients in unique combinations that you won't expect but will likely love. Their few flavors change every week or two making it a joy to discover what they've crafted. The only problem is that you may fall in love with a flavor that's quickly gone, but that makes room for new concoctions to try. Ask the staff to bring back your favorites and hopefully they will. They also offer pastries, ice cream sandwiches, and my favorite, ice cream with pastries mixed in. So take a break from commercial-grade factory stuff and explore true craft ice cream at Red Rover.
So grateful for the pictures to know to avoid bringing my kids
Their milk chocolate with fudge ripple /brown butter chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich is fantastic!!
Great ice cream!
I looked at the Google Maps reviews and I was very interested in trying their π¦ ice-cream.
Flavors are limited, but, for me, it makes it easier to decide! They serve ice-cream sandwiches and brownies as well.
I think I had the Heavenly Hash. The memory is not that great, sometimes. What was I thinking about? Umm π€, oh, the chocolate had a distinct flavor from other chocolate π¦ ice-creams I have had. I liked the ice-cream flavor. The sugar cone was made for munchkins, alert Dorothy! No, not the rock πͺ¨ singer!
Prices are high, but, that's Portsmouth! A few spots to sit πͺ at the window and enjoy the view π of State Street!
Update: November 2025; I tried the Triple Ginger π¦ ice-cream. It has Ginger Snaps pieces with ginger cake. It left an after taste of ginger that lasted a while. Delicious. The sugar cone was huge!
I hope they can have the outside artwork repainted before it fades away!
It is worth checking out and seeing what you think π€!
Amazing smells, even better taste. Very friendly experience.
I would like to think of myself as an ice cream expert, and this place is the absolute best in all of the NH seacoast. It is not for the ice cream novice. This place is for people who have an open flavor palette and can really appreciate the true craft of creating an ice cream experience. Chef's kiss !
Outstanding ice cream. Creative flavors. Good ingredients!! The salted caramel was 10/10. So cute with the tiny cone on top - nice touch.
Amazing ice cream. Awe had the buttermilk peach cobbler and chocolate brown butter blondie and they were delicious

We stopped in with are kiddos on a hot Sunday. Grabbed a mint fudge and strawberry swirl. Super tiny but most of all I spit out the first taste of the mint. I donβt know what it was but it wasnβt ice cream! I have never IN MY LIFE spit out ice cream. Maybe it was spoiled. Never again.
Delicious and creative flavors you won't get anywhere else
The absolute best!!! Ask for taste because they are amazing and unique!!
Really cute little spot! The girls that were working were very sweet. The date ice cream they had today was SO DELICIOUS!
Only note would be about the waffle coneβ itβs very tall (which I love) but it would be hard to get ice cream all the way down, so you end up with a lot of just cone to munch on at the end. No biggie, but it would be cool if it had chocolate or something in it!
Spectacular. Best ice cream Iβve have ever had. Thank you!
