Toscana is our absolute favorite restaurant in Portsmouth! Food, service and atmosphere are fantastic!
Perfect spot for a wonderful dinner. The building is a historic bank- lovely architecture right on the coast.
Excellent food and top level service. Had pre and post dinner cocktails at the bar. It was the ideal place for a business dinner meeting. Definitely recommend.
Third visit here. Service was great but 3 of the 4 steaks were overcooked. One steak was sent back and returned cold. (We think they never touched the plate.) Other than that the steaks were tender and tasty. For Restaurant Week, it was a bit pricey.
Excellent service and food. Very difficult to have a conversation due to noise level and very high ceilings. Overall a memorable experience and we will return.
Food was amazing and service was excellent! attentive but not overbearing. The staff were all very kind and warm. And the restaurant itself was very cozy and clean. Will definitely be back.
It was a wonderful dining experience! The staff was friendly and professional and Seairra our server was so nice and helpful. My wife and I were there for our anniversary and they made of feel so special. Of course we had steak for dinner. It was prepared perfectly as was everything we had! We will definitely recommend Toscana Italian Chophouse to all of our friends and family.
Ordered the petit filet and it was the best filet I have had in a very long time. Chocolate bomb dessert is a must.
Let me say that the food was absolutely fantastic, zero complaints there. Our server, however, was absolutely awful. We arrived to our reservation on time but, it was more than 10 minutes until we were greeted by our unenthused server. We had to specifically ask for water and bread as he was walking away after getting our drink order which was annoying. Appetizers took 30 minutes which is fine except for the fact that there was no check in from our server until then. My girlfriend requested hot sauce, toasted bread, and pepper for her oysters, of which she only received the pepper. When our food came he did ask if everything looked good, but then started walking away before i could ask for a few things (more bread, water, etc.) that he should have asked. Food runners proceeded to bring us those requests however our server never returned until we were well finished with our meal (not even to make sure everything is tasting fine after a few minutes).
Overall we felt that we had to serve ourselves at a place that should at the very least have service on par with texas roadhouse, but instead we got someone better suited for waffle house. Server never gave us his name but it’s the blonde guy with a man bun and some facial hair, steer clear of him.

First I want to say our whole group was very excited to try this spot in Portsmouth and we have tried lots of higher end restaurants and I feel bad to say this was a let down!! We had a reservation and still had to wait which was ok. Then we all got steaks which were good but they mixed up mine and a buddies and it was way under cooked for some parts of the steak and well done and chewy for other parts, which I could get past if we were eating at longhorns but we weren’t and we paid almost $700 for 4 of us and a child, we are very disappointed in the quality of food. We also got deserts and the Italian doughnuts tasted like onion rings.I’m sure we will give it one more shot but was not pleased with the first go around.

Service was good, filet tasted like charcoal. All appetizers tasted good.

The chef here is actively trying to put this company out of business. That's the only conclusion that can be drawn, salt content is unbelievable.

Food was horrible and I have never said that before. Paid 125.00 for a steak and it was overcooked, tough and no taste. Do not go there. Wife had a salad with steak tips and it was horrible as well. So disappointed.

Dinner at Toscana Italian Chophouse and Wine Bar was a delightful experience. The food was expert prepared, with each dish cooked to perfection. I had a tough time deciding between the seafood and something from the grill. The server was incredibly helpful and offered great recommendations. I then chose the 6 oz. filet mignon and my husband chose the salmon dish.
The bread served at the beginning of the meal was fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious, when dipped in the oil with fresh herbs. To complement the food, my husband ordered a whiskey cocktail, which was crafted well and had just the right balance of flavors. Overall, Toscana Italian Chophouse and Wine Bar provided an exceptional dining experience with especially how busy it was for the holiday season. The food was excellent, and it had a warm and cozy atmosphere. I’d eat here again in a heartbeat.
Dietary restrictions: Informed waiter about mushroom allergy, and very accommodating.

I ordered the Wagyu beef medium, and my husband ordered the ribeye, medium rare. The order came out switched. No big deal if you’re ordering steak from a chain restaurant, but when you pay $68-$75 per steak with no side, you expected to be perfect .
