Loud inside but a friendly staff with good bartenders, hosts, and waiters. Cocktails were inspired (pamplemousse foam on my Paloma, don't mind if I do!). Lovely snacky size charcuterie. Petite filet was very good, perfectly cooked and the right size. Bolognese was good, too. Wine list is admirable. Prices are what you'd expect. We would happily go back.

Incredibly loud, luckily they had outside seating so we opted for that. Otherwise you could barely hear yourself think. Service was incredibly slow, our meals came barely luke warm, and we sent back. The crispy calamari was soft and rubbery. Very expensive and very disappointing. 100% will not go back.

Great night with my family for wife's bday. Rowan, our sever was great. Kudos to him and the restaurant ! Food was terrific

Disappointing overall. Despite a reservation specifying our seating preferences and there being lots of open tables, we were initially offered the table just inside the front door. (We asked and were reseated as requested.). My husband's meal was good - Caesar salad and risotto - however; my meal was terribly salty (strawberry salad and lobster ravioli) to the point that I did not finish half of either. We try Toscana perhaps once or twice a summer (here only seasonally) and somehow we're disappointed every time.

Great vibes, great food and service!! It was my birthday and they made me feel extra special

Food is very bland and flavorless. Meatballs seem to be missing the main spices to make it taste like real meatballs. Same for pasta. Nothing Italian about this place

We sat outside, which was fine. Nothing good or bad to say about that. Our server was fine. She missed a lemonade. We asked someone else, and it was brought over. We had 2 apps. The tuna tartar and meatball. Tuna was awful. The texture was stringy and fattty. There was virtually no flavor to it whatsoever. The meatball was mediocre and room temperature at best. We had steaks. My wife had a filet I had the wagyu. The steaks were ok, my au poivre sauce was again tepid at best. Overall, the meal was not worth the $300 we spent by a longshot.

Very disappointed with the service. Our server seemed annoyed to attend to us. The Burrata appetizer was not very appetizing. The mussels were nothing special. The Eggplant Rollitini was good. The dessert,Zeppole, which we shared was good, although we needed to request plates. This couple which dines our frequently, will probably not return, which is their loss.

Toscana is our absolute favorite restaurant in Portsmouth! Food, service and atmosphere are fantastic!

Perfect spot for a wonderful dinner. The building is a historic bank- lovely architecture right on the coast.

Excellent food and top level service. Had pre and post dinner cocktails at the bar. It was the ideal place for a business dinner meeting. Definitely recommend.

Third visit here. Service was great but 3 of the 4 steaks were overcooked. One steak was sent back and returned cold. (We think they never touched the plate.) Other than that the steaks were tender and tasty. For Restaurant Week, it was a bit pricey.

Michele

Excellent service and food. Very difficult to have a conversation due to noise level and very high ceilings. Overall a memorable experience and we will return.

Food was amazing and service was excellent! attentive but not overbearing. The staff were all very kind and warm. And the restaurant itself was very cozy and clean. Will definitely be back.

It was a wonderful dining experience! The staff was friendly and professional and Seairra our server was so nice and helpful. My wife and I were there for our anniversary and they made of feel so special. Of course we had steak for dinner. It was prepared perfectly as was everything we had! We will definitely recommend Toscana Italian Chophouse to all of our friends and family.
