The manager was able to accommodate us to sit outside; we had a loud member of our group who didn't want to disturb other patrons. The manager also let us know that if we got too cold that he had prepared a table for us indoors just in case, and would be happy to move us. The weather was perfect and the food was delicious. We were very satisfied with this find, as our daughter goes to FPU, and we were there for family weekend. The loud guy was my daughter's father. We are both remarried, but we do a lot of dinners and activities together. Finding a place that accommodates all of our different tastes and requests isn't always easy. :) Thank you!
We thought we would give it another try but nothing had changed. It takes awhile to get your drinks, too cold the a/c blows on your feet, there was 4 of us. The food was less than subpar the potatoes tasted like instant, you could hit your roll on the table it was so hard, no mustard for a burger that you got with 10 fries, lumpy rice and food is overall flavorless . Two of the parties didn't like their drinks. Definitely not worth the money.
Great food at reasonable price. Service very slow. Missing several entrees... Would return.
We always enjoy visiting The Grove at the Woodbound Inn. Whether you sit inside in the dining room, in the Pub, outside on the porch, or the deck, it is always a wonderful, pleasant, and fun time.
We've been eating at the Grove for several years now, and have seen it go through some changes. For a time, pre-covid, it was our go to for a nice Friday meal. Since then, there have been management and menu changes. The restaurant made it successfully through covid, however in the last couple of years both the service and food quality have been inconsistent. Our service last night was not particularly attentive (though we weren't ignored), and the meal wasn't particularly good (fairly bland). For a Friday evening, there weren't a lot of full tables, yet the air conditioning seemed to be set suitable for a meat locker. I imagine we'll end up going back, but it will be a while.
Stopped in here after my wife's graduation, the food was good, but the service is what made the experience great, the staff was amazing, they were attentive, energetic and most of all, genuine and friendly, we don't get this way really ever, as we live 1.5 hours away, but for anyone visiting Franklin Pierce, check it out....
Nice place to get a beverage at the end of the day hiking.
Pleasant staff & bar
The most charming experience in the area. The staff and management are top notch and the restaurant is run so efficiently, but with a home town feel - like you're family. The food is fresh and delicious, and plentiful. It is always a lovely experience dining here.
The food was all very good. The French Onion Soup was very hearty (and hot) and the Prime Rib with house sides was very flavorful. My wife had the Chicken Pot Pie and she liked it as well. We are much more understanding post-Covid to restaurant's staffing struggles and are guessing that was the reason for a slight lack of attentiveness and service. It wasn't enough to ruin the meal and we would highly recommend the Grove. The violinist was an unexpected and appreciated touch for the Valentine's Day dinner service.

We had a charming experience for Valentines Day, and feel grateful for all your careful attention to the details of excellence.
Very good food, service, and atmosphere here. We went here for a birthday dinner and went back with family. Food was served hot, appetizer was good, and we will be back.

We are new to Jaffrey and wanted a decent meal so figured this would be a nice place to order take-out from. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price we paid for it. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine enough, but for $28 we got FOUR steak tips and some sad overcooked plain white rice. We also ordered the chicken tender dinner which was more reasonable at $16 and we really enjoyed them! For dessert, I got the world's smallest piece of chocolate cake for $12!!!! After tax and tip over $60 for a meal that should've realistically been $40 max. I'm willing to pay for a good meal, but for mediocre pub food it's just not worth the money at the end of the day.

This place is a hidden gem it is gorgeous food was awesome chef and server were as accommodating as possible for one person in our party who eats a vegan diet. Only thing I will say is if there could be even just 2-3 vegan menu options that would be amazing. Or even if certain things on the menu were just specifically called out as vegan, like certain salad dressings for example, that would be helpful. Would definitely come back and would recommend.
The cook named Kurt might be the most talented cook there is! Everytime I’ve eaten here he’s cooked my food to perfection! Next Gordon Ramsey!
