Most things can be made vegan. Coffee is great and they have all the plant milks out and available no up charge. They have just egg for the burritos and vegan cheese. Love coming here, across the street from the ocean!

I have food allergies and need to eat fresh clean ingredients. I feel so lucky to have a local cafe that offers Just about anything I'd want. The cook is a thoughtful soul and helped me out for Thanksgiving for just my son and I. The cashier was equally nice and totally accommodating. It's a chill atmosphere not a place to run in and out of, we like it that way! It's a local community that care about each other. Thanks for everything you do to keep us healthy. God bless

My husband and I are both vegan, and were happy to discover that most menu items here can be made vegan! The staff told us that they have a vegan egg they make in-house and even told us what it was made of (slipping my mind now). They also have vegan cheese and vegan sausage. We both ordered the Cali Dip burritos which were delicious. We also took home a vegan tiramisu from their to-go case of desserts. In the little store they have attached to the cafe, there were a variety of vegan snacks if you need to grab something for your beach day. We would love to see a vegan replacement for the chicken items on the menu some day! Great job offering a variety of vegan replacements for your menu, we will be back!

We picked up a couple of things for a picnic, including a vegan grilled cheese (as clearly marked on the receipt). We drove to the picnic spot, open the sandwich carton, and lo and behold, they made us a chicken sandwich (I'd show a picture of it, but no pictures of animal products are allowed here). There were no other customers in Common Roots when we ordered these, so they likely were not overly busy back in the kitchen. So we drove the 20 minutes back, showed them our sandwich and receipt, and both the woman behind the counter and the manager acted like this was a matter of missing tomato. No apology. Just an annoyed, "We can make you another one." No thanks. I wouldn't trust another thing I bought from here. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-27

Great spot with so much to offer! Service with a smile, clean and bright atmosphere and great view in the outdoor seating, wonderful options, delicious and fresh food. They have a sort of gift shop area and grocery area as well.

Sometimes you get exactly what you need, and thanks to the Common Roots Cafe, I did today! Wonderful place with fresh, creative, healthy food and beverages. And they gave our dog a homemade treat! And we ate our lunch across the street on the beach. Just the break we needed in the midst of a long drive. Treat yourself if you’re in Rye, NH!!

Traveling through this area can be a challenge for finding good food so we were delighted to find this cafe. We enjoyed TLT sandwiches with delicious smoked tempeh and fresh vegetables for lunch and decided to return the next morning to also enjoy their breakfast sandwiches and blueberry muffins. Two great meals!
