Great craft beer selection. I visit just about everyday. Food is awesome. Very few mistakes and it’s corrected promptly. Staff is phenomenal. Atmosphere is unmatched.

Most of the menu is à la carte, portions literally seemed measured. Spent $30 and left hungry. Food was just ok at best. Thought I’d give them a chance but Goody Coles 15 minutes away is half the price for twice the food and much better tasting.

Service was good and everyone seemed pleasant. Might be a good hangout/bar place but I’d avoid it if you just want BBQ

Hands down THE BEST pickle fries. Anytime I crave fried pickles, I look for an excuse to travel the 45 mins here to get these. The meats are great and good portions for great price. The maple dusted wings are also a hit! Their cornbread is a little different, i had never had it with hints of jalapeño but still really good. Can barely wait for them to cool before digging in. Highly recommend trying this place!

Worst food and it took forever to get it noon time on a Friday empty restaurant, the cornbread and coleslaw were inedible and my ribs were more fat than meat, sorry but now I have to go to Tennessee BBQ in Peabody MA and wash the taste of there food out of my mouth

TL;DR I love Smokin' Barrels and you probably will too.

I will start by saying that I live in Boston and I work in Portsmouth, and Smokin' Barrels is easily worth the trip up to Barrington any day I'm in the office, as well as worth the extra time added to the commute home.

From the outside, the building looks like a beat-up roadside diner, but the inside is a stylish, inviting family dining environment. While not a large dining room by any means, there is plenty of seating and a variety of options whether you like a table, a booth, or just a seat at the bar. The music is pretty dead-on for a roadside BBQ, with a lot of classic blues tunes providing a mellow and tangy underscoring to the whole experience.

The food is fantastic. The very first time I visited was post-lunch rush, and the pit master was talking with customers, and I learned Smokin' Barrels is a fusion of various BBQ styles; this means that while you can't exactly specify your dish be prepared Carolina-style, the tradeoff is that every item on the menu has the kind of quality that only comes with food prepared with intention. Always check out the specials, and if you're on the fence about something ask the staff; they're all friendly and knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction. My personal highlights include the caprese Brussels sprouts, the poutine, the po' boy (a new addition!), the grits (which have been certified by every southerner I've brought to Smokin' Barrels), and the brisket sandwich.

Speaking of staff, they are consistently wonderful. They are always attentive and considerate in their service, keeping your drinks full and checking in often; the food always comes out faster than you'd expect too!

My only criticism is the hours - I just can't get used to things in NH closing so early, but I suppose if they didn't I'd still be sitting there right now.

We had our wedding catered by Smokin’ Barrels, and the food was absolutely incredible. From cocktail hour through dinner, everything was delicious, and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was.

Mike was always checking in throughout the night and made sure our plates were always full. His care and attention truly stood out, and it showed in both the quality of the food and the overall experience. We are so grateful to Mike and the Smokin’ Barrels team and cannot recommend them enough.

We had the opportunity to eat at BBQ Smokin' Barrels recently and are really glad we stopped. We look specifically for ADA access establishments and decided to give this place a visit. Very pleased we did. From the minute you enter, you're met with soft lighting and blues music. The mini whiskey barrels used for table lights is just enough. The music is loud enough to enjoy, but not over powering so you can talk with your table mates and wait staff. There is plenty of comfortable seating at the full service bar and tables to accommodate wheelchair patrons. The menu offers mostly bbq as one would presume it would. There are also plenty of side dishes offered that would satisfy most any palate. You're offered both a food menu, which includes spirits and beer offerings as well as a Daily specials and happy hour menu. The food is simply fantastic. Mouthwatering beef selections and chicken cooked to perfection. Our waitress was diligent and brought non-alcholic drinks without needing to be asked. The food is served on metal plates only adding to the rustic atmosphere. The check for 2, who ate very well, was less than $50. More of course with a well deserved tip. We strongly recommend this establishment if you find yourself in Barrington. There is ample parking. We will be back. Thank you! Wendy and David 1/13/26.
