We have been 2 years in a row now on our way up through Maine, coming from Boston. This place is soooo worth the stop! We didn't get the fluffy chowder last year but this year we did, in addition to the wonderful (warm) lobster rolls, and it is a must. We will certainly be back next year for more!

We visited the hungry lobster on a Thursday in October. We were seated immediately and the restaurant looked very clean. We ordered two fluffy lobster chowders, a full-size lobster roll, and a mini lobster roll. Everything came out to us quickly and the lady working the counter was very friendly. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We were visiting New England for over a week and had already eaten several other lobster rolls along the New England coast. This was by far the best one we had eaten. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be regulars. When we come back to the area, this will be an absolute stop for us. My husband won’t stop talking about it. Too bad we live in Houston.

Absolutely amazing food. We ordered a lobster roll (cold), fluffy chowder and lobster benedict. Everything was delicious. The lobster benedict was quite possibly the best meal I've had for breakfast. The lobster roll was a perfect balance of mayo, lemon, lobster and a toasted bun. Incredible flavors.
They do not skimp on the lobster!
The restaurant is cute and quaint. Locals were talking about the weather coming in this week. The staff were so nice and welcoming. It felt like we'd been there a hundred times.
They also have coffee, pre made salads and rolls, muffins, etc.
We can't wait for our next visit!

The food is amazing! Nice portion sizes, fantastic freshness, exploding flavors! Quick to order and receive food. I visited briefly with the lady who took my order, another lady who brought my lunch to me, and a third lady preparing the meals in the kitchen; all three ladies were very friendly, pleasant, upbeat, happy, while being great at making incredible seafood meals. I'll be talking to people in South Carolina about this place for years!

Warm lobster roll and fluffy chowder for the win! Best lobster and chowder I’ve had since visiting the East Coast from Oregon. Would highly recommend spending the money to enjoy the experience here!

Simply put, the best breakfast I’ve ever been served. Lobster Benedict was absolutely LOADED with huge chunks of lobster and covered in an incredible lobster bisque. I am truly blown away. Service was super friendly, the restaurant is cozy and has food to go. I bought a couple lobster rolls and some bisque for lunch and dinner today and tomorrow. I will absolutely be back to this incredible gem of a restaurant.

Not sure where the 4.9 comes from. As they saying goes, you had one job… lobster roll.
Very runny lobster mayo mix with celery and very strong lemon flavor. Lemon juice probably made it soupy. Roll seemed to be pre-toasted and cold. Just give me a fresh bun and lobster with a bit of heavy mayo. Period

You‘d never guess that this is the place serving some of the best chowdahs and lobster rolls in New England. A small fluffy chowder and mini hot lobster roll makes an amazing lunch, and a remarkable value. We‘ll be back!
