Every summer, we anxiously await the opening of The Ice House and then are so sad when they close for the season. From the best fish tacos to burgers and homemade baked beans and amazing ice cream and blueberry pie, this is the place! This a family-run business and they treat you like family.

Excellent!!! Haven't been here in so many years! Grew up in Portsmouth and this was one of my favorite spots to get a frappe after school! Still the same and I love it! Live up in maine now but will make the trip again soon! Best clam strip roll I've had in such a long time!

Every time I am in Portsmouth to visit family, this is one of our spots. Great food menu, extensive ice cream list. Good times.

They serve Richardson’s ice cream. No waffle cones but they have a nice assortment of casual food and plenty of parking . Sea salt caramel ice cream size small pictured. It has caramel Rolos and caramel swirls throughout and was delicious

The Ice House has been one of my favorite places to eat since attending the University of NH. The Durham location has since closed, but the one in Rye is just as awesome. I can't wait to go as soon as I come up to NH for vacation. If you haven't been to the Ice House yet, give it a try. You are missing out on some delicious food and yummy ice cream!!

We only went for ice cream and it was good. It has a lot of the same flavors as other ice cream places close by. It's very good ice cream but not sure if they make it themselves or buy it from somewhere else. Also that have gluten free cones. They accept card and cash.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free cones.

Great place for a quick stop to eat after visiting the science center, awesome lawn out back for the kids to play, food was great and affordable, friendly service. Onion rings get a 10/10! Kids also got a kick out of the cute painting in the bathroom.
Great place for fried seafood and ice cream. We were somewhat disappointed in the seafood we ordered. The preparation was not what we expected. It used to be great this time. Fried clams were overcooked, fish was just ok, and the scallops were very small and they just didn't taste exceptional. Fries were ok.
