We spent a lot of money to have very disappointing food. We had the haddock, which is described in the menu as “baked with white wine and lemon and topped with chef’s buttery crumb”. It was one of the worst haddock’s I’ve ever had. No taste of the wine or the lemon. It was topped with some sort of red spicy hot seasoning. I had to scrape all of it off as I don’t like spicy food. The rest of the fish was flavorless. They were out of rice so we had the garlic mashed...
My family visited in shoulder season and really enjoyed the visit. Our server was very polite, respectful, and engaging. He knew how to serve kids with patience. "My pleasure, sir" was a pleasant unexpected level of respect and service. Nothing was a problem, no issues, and the food came out well prepared. Decent drinks menu and local beer selection. The view of the hills and clouds was great. Room for the kids to roam and explore. Very nice way to start our vacation....
