Tamworth Distilling & Mercantile

The place may be beautiful and the people nice. But the only thing I tried/ was gifted ended up being the white mountain vodka and it was horrible, after we cut it with 4 items we could bear the taste. You are not supposed to taste that.

We went to an outside music event held in the distillery back yard. We didn't take a tour of the distillery but we did have them mix up a couple of drinks. We walked around the store and saw their bourbon. Nice set up. A little education about the notes they use to make the bourbon. They have vodka and cordials for sale too. Friendly staff.

Good stuff, a little pricey but good. Get a cocktail or flight and head for the river in the back for a relaxing time.

Stopped by while up in New Hampshire and saw that Hermit Woods used their barrels, so decided to make the trek up from where we were staying. Absolutely fantastic place with a ton of great stuff. Definitely worth a stop!

I rarely give 5 stars but this place not only has great spirits but the staff was exceptionally friendly and fun to chat with while we enjoyed sampling the spirits! Thanks for the great afternoon!

My fiancé and I were in the area looking at a venue yesterday. The venue owner recommended Tamsworth Distillery when we asked about things to do in the area. We had a hike planned but I kept falling through the snow and was done with the outdoors. We headed over to the distillery where Melissa and Lars told us all about the many different spirits and cordials.

We were mind blown by the selection and quality of everything we tried. We took home 3 bottles (ginger vodka, Thai chili gin, and starberry rhubarb cordial).

The service and atmosphere were top notch. Lars and Melissa were terrific hosts. We will definitely be going back!

We stopped in for a drink while on a snowy Sunday drive and ended up spending the afternoon in great conversation. Payton, the mixologist, was great company and was happy to explain the distilling process and provided some samples of different spirits and infusions to highlight the conversation.

I try to come here every time we come to NH, but very disappointed today. We came and they were closed, but by all accounts one would assume they would be open. Their hours say open at 12pm on Thursday, but nothing was posted on their Facebook page, website, or voicemail to say otherwise. Not even a note on the door. As we stopped, 3 other cars stopped as well trying to visit the distillery. If you’re gonna be closed for New Year’s Day, that’s great, but at least let potential costumers know….

Been here a couple times and it never fails to amaze me the variety they produce. There are a bunch of gifts and alcohol/cocktail bottles and mixes, a cute back room, and gorgeous area down the back by the creek with seating and cornhole. The cider cocktail was tasty and they have a couple drinks where they roast marshmallows right now!

Our favorite distillery. Such a vibe, right on the river. I’ve had most of their spirits and they’re all incredible. Couldn’t love this place more.

Went for a tasting, it is a beautiful little shop. Husband did a 5 flight and I did a small 3 flight. Just a heads up, since they’re not a bar, you can only do a flight or a cocktail. It was a little confusing, I guess I could have also done a cocktail. No food is served.

Personally the alcohol wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the apple brandy, but did enjoy the maple Rye. Pretty expensive for a total of 5 ounces of alcohol it was nearly $50 with tip (25 for husbands flight, 12 for mine). But, if you’ve got a big budget it may be worth it. Some of
Their bottles were wildly expensive for us (over $100), so we didn’t come home with anything.

The store was laid out beautifully, though. If you’re passing thru, worth a try. I’d go back if ever in the area but probably do a cocktail instead of samples.

An incredible variety of spirits. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. A beautiful outdoor space next to the water amplifies the experience.

My wife and I drove an hour to visit Tamworth Distillery, and it was absolutely worth the drive! The whole experience was stunning—the grounds are beautiful, and the tables by the river offer a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery.

We enjoyed a whisky flight and a gin flight, and both were very enjoyable. The quality of the libations was fantastic, and the gin especially stood out as a favorite. I also have to give special mention to the design of their merchandise, particularly the bottles of spirits. They are exquisite—honestly, some of the most beautiful packaging I’ve ever seen.

I had planned to buy a bottle of their Pascal’s Wager whisky, but when I saw it was priced at \$250, I had to pass. Don’t get me wrong, the whiskey was good, but it didn’t quite live up to that price tag in my opinion. I understand that smaller places like this have to cover their costs. That being said, the gin was wonderful and fairly priced, so we picked up a bottle to take home!

Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend visiting—especially if you appreciate beautiful settings, excellent drinks, and top-notch merchandise. We’ll definitely be back!
